True. However with sufficient skill and a stock class gun you can play very cheaply. Beside, there's a lot of fun with seeing you paint impact on a target, even if that target is a tree or 'sup air bunker.

Sometimes thats part of the fun. My Phantom and 98c need very little maintenance, my cocker a little more. However I've always been one to take good care of my tools and maintenance is just part of the deal.

Quite frankly I find it odd that you would post this sort of thing here. This is a paintball forum and a lot of the people have little sense of humor about this sort of thing. There are also a lot of people on most paintball sites who are up-tight about the resemblance of paintball to mil-sim.

Here's my view on airsoft in few words. I used to play around with the airsoft guns before I found the higher level, Paintballing.

Seriously, I've played both on a semi n00bish level. Airsoft is cheap (yes) for the bbs, but when people had full auto, all they would do is spray and pray. There are no safety regulations (basicly, outlaw ball) and people play with random pairs of safety glasses they find in their houses. Hum, 500fps sniper (yes) shooting at my crappy glasses, smart eh? The area I played in was covered in little plastic bbs that won't go away. PB is much safer and tons more fun IMO. The guns look much cooler (ooo, metal...) than crappy plastic airsoft guns. Think about it, most people who play airsoft wouldn't be playing if the guns were made of the metal that the real guns are made of because they'd weigh over 20lbs. And to validate that I'm not talking about crappy springers, I had a GBB Desert Eagle, one of my friends has a G36C w/ illuminated scope and the other a full size AK47 ($300+ guns except for the pistol which cost about $100).

I used to play 2 pump with my cousin. 2 pump is where you pump twice before you shoot. So the bb is only goin as fast as 2 pumps will propell it. So you would start the game by pumping twice(2 pumps total). Later you aim at the person and are about to shoot so you pump twice(4 pumps total). Do that about 3 times(8 pumps total).
