Would getting a 98c be considered redundant cause I can just rent one?
The only difference is you can upgrade it.

Dude, first, go find a dictionary and use it.
I am wondering why you would buy a 98m or 98c if you can rent one. Is anyone thinking this too, or am I all alone in this world of my ideas and theorys that no one else seems to care about. Oh well. That would make a good sig.
Sorry, I was on another pc when I started this.

Dude, having 2 account is against the rules!
I think your all alone on your theroy. Because a whole lotta people have Tippmann's. Why? Because there: Reiable, Customizable, and are Reiable!
Most people are just happy with there Tippmanns, and see no reason to upgrade to a new gun.

IMO it's not redundant at all. You would take better care of your personal gun and would be able to upgrade it to your liking. I know we praise Tippmann durability, but a gun that is well kept by a competent user will perform better than one that is abused. Not to mention you get to experience the joy of ownership. It'll also save you on rental fees.

If its your first pb gun, why not? Otherwise get a mag. Heck in hindsight I would of gotten a mag as my first gun.

Now wait a second here guys... He might be on to something.
Save the money you would spend from the initial purchase of the marker and just buy yourself a barrel, a Revy, maybe some new grips or a sight rail (if you like that sort of thing) and install them on the rental each time you go out!
Yeah, thats the ticket!
please don't take my post seriously....

whats the point when you can just go to the local paintball place and rent one???

The point is that a rental won't get taken care of as well, not to mention if you play alot eventually you'll pay for the gun in rental fees. Having your own also lets you play outlaw or big scenarios. It can also teach you how to take care of a marker and lead to bigger and better things. There is also a psychological issue, even if you are using a stock 98C and the field rents 98C's you will be 1.)proud of, and 2.) more confident using, a gun that is your own. Maybe that's just my opinion but having my own gun made me much more confident on the field.

well I was pretty sure I knew what redundant meant, but I did look in a dictionary to make sure. I'm not sure how that word applies to what you're asking here. Maybe the words you're looking for are pointless, unnecessary, unessencial, or superfluous. Yeah, the dictionary has a thesaurus too.

I'm going to go with Coenen. Plus I wouldn't be so sure that you'd be able to use your own upgrades on a rental gun (like one from a field). In the long run it would cost way more to rent it anyways. At least compared to rates here, buying it would have paid off in less than 10 times.
He was using the right word.

my handy dandy webster says
"having more words than necessary,"
and I don't think I've ever heard or seen it used in reference to anything but writing or speech. But hey, I am wrong from time to time.

You can do some trigger mods on your own gun,sum polishing, sum customiznig, and you`ll better know the limits of the "tool" you are using :) .Later you should buy upgrades like motorized hopper,HP, and a nice barrel.

I say get your own. You can do what you want with it and you might not always have a field to rent one at. What if you decided you wanted to go play some rec out in the middle of nowhere with some friends?
