I'm purchasing a mag pretty soon and I have always ran co2 through my previous gun. I have heard of nitrogen systems but i don't know if I need one on my gun or if it is just an upgrade?

For a mag you definately want nitro, or at the very least a remote and CO2 regulator. Dont even think of running CO2 directly into your mag, or it's gonna be ugly :) How much do you want to spend and i can reccomend some good nitro tanks

I don't have too much for the tank. I'm getting the microline system on paintballgear.com. I want to spend between 80-100 dollars if I can but I'm not to sure because I know i can but just nitro tanks and I know I can by the whole like nitro system which is a lot more expensive

for 120, you can get the Crossfire Stubby 68ci 3000 psi steel tank...or if you REALLy don't want to spend over 100, then get any 47 ci tank, they are usually under 100..except for the AGD Flatline..but yeah..

How many shots do I get for each tank size around?

witha 47ci, you'll get maybe 600 shots. With a 68 ci, you can get up to maybe 1000 shots if your gun has very good efficiency, but it's usually around 850-900.
