I made the mistake of registering on www.pbnation.com yesterday. Check out this thread, it starts on Page 4. I left a picture in the "Post a picture of you playing" thread, and I was IMMEDIATELY flamed.

Then, upon looking around a little more, I found this thread about how it's GOOD to wipe off hits, and how it "betters your skills"...

yea i know some ppl are like that. some kids at a field i was at were like that. they werent even that good. if anything, wiping the paint makes u a worse player, cus ppl wont like u and wont want to play with u, and it shows that u are a total jerk.

i don't like pbnation either. not because of its content or members but because of the layout. it isn't much different than pbgear but for some inexplicable reason, it just doesn't appeal to me.

plus i was here first, so there's the wacky loyalty issue.

I tried re-linking, it worked for me a few times then stopped working. It's worth a look though, just to see how much better the people are on this forum compared to them. lol.

Pbn rawks. If your going to take getting flamed on an online forums personally, maybe you should re-consider where your actually posting. Those guys don't care, they'll never meet you in real life, so what are you going to do about it, they just do it to get at you, and by clearly letting them do so, they've accomplished their goal.

Pbn is a very good site if you don't look at it in a totally negative aspect, their Matrix, Timmy,aka, Wdp, ICD, and prolly almost every other specific markers forums own ours with companys coming and posting a lot of information on upcoming products and so forth. Its very helpful and the site is a good resource to those who use it right.

PBN's general and OT both suck really bad. However, their specific marker forums are A LOT better than PBR's in many cases.

If you can sort through the BS at PBN it's not a bad place. The Bob forum is very good. Lots of tech info as well as some of B.L.A.S.T.'s top techs. Personally, I'm too impatient to sort. I don't feel like reading 5 pages of "you're an arse..." "no YOU'RE an arse" "no you are!!...." to find out that I have a bad air-fitting.

I have a account over there, but barely use it. The WDP forum is choc full of crap, basically the same thread over and over.

Then again, I've seen myself moving over to the TheAngelGuy.com Forums for all my technical stuff with the Angel.

The Worr forums over here are very helpful, if you ask the right questions. Spyderman runs a tight ship over there, and I think it's good to close threads that are answered in the FAQ.

Crappy site? Dude, it's the same software as this website uses, just with different colors. If you don't like the standard colors there are a plethora of other selections you can make upon registering. In that way, PBN's versatility is tenfold that of PBR.

So there are pricks there; you don't think they're here too? I know that some of my best trades and sales have come from the PBNation BST forum, and I've met some of the nicest and most helpful people around on that forum. I nearly got ripped off a few weeks ago; albeit, it was a small part, but a moderator by the name of sellout007 took hours away from what I'm sure is a busy schedule of work and school to help me get it back, even assisting in contacting the scammer's parents and filing the fraud paperwork.

Maybe you guys should learn to judge the weight of your friends' sins against your enemies.

I think a lot of the bias against PBN by our members is because of that group of PBN members that insist on causing trouble here on our forums. A few members do not reflect the content or character of the whole group, but it does leave a poor impression. And when their mods sit back and passively encourage them to continue, that doesn't exactly help either. I know if our members were doing that sort of thing, we'd ban them, but I suppose thats just the moral difference between our two sites. You don't always get to pick your members, but you do get to pick your leaders, and if thats the type of people they're going to have leading their site, I'd rather not go there.

But Deceit/Warehouse is okay in my book. :tup:

The one thing that struck me was that i saw in one of the threads ( i think potatocannon made it right after they spammed us) was a mod cussing at the new user. I also read the rules at the top of ST, and about half the threads violated their "no tolerence" rules. I havent been around the rest of the site enough to judge that.

Update:

In all fairness, I need to let you know that a moderator from PB Nation sent me an e-mail a little while ago.

This e-mail said that he deleted the offensive threads (and some of mine for fairness), he agreed with me that the site is full of pompous 13-year olds, and he favored scenario play to tourney play.

So at least SOMEONE over there is trying to keep it a decent site.

Well, considering we have 58,862 users and they have 62,641, you're wrong. Taking into consideration that a huge number of the people on PBN have upwards of 10 names, I'd say we're about even.

I'd say not. Most users EVER on PBR was like 320, and that was last year. Most ever on PBN was about 1100, in November. Every night I get on, there are at least 500 people on PBN, maybe 150-200 on here.

Most of the people registered to either forum use both. I use both. There are idiots no matter where you go. More people use PBN so there will be more idiots. I like both sites, but when I post a FS/FT ad on both forums I almost always sell it on PBN. I like both, just for different reasons.

it aint as easy to keep it cleaned up as some may think. i agree ST is the arm pit of PBN and i wouldnt mind seeing it gone all together. the other mods/admins know my stance and im dreaming of the day its finaly gone. for the most part PBN is actualy a decent place. id just love to get rid of the breeding pit for 90% of the crap that goes on there (ST). do some of the mods overstep their authority? sure but ive seen it here too. its just on a magnified scale on PBN because of the greater posts and user count
