drop zones: www.countypaintball.com
the ones with sight rails are the older models i believe
stabilizing velocity is the responsibility of regulators. i reccomend you pick up a nice n2 tank before you go replacing all your stock regulators as i have heard good reports of the stock regs, and increasing shots, well i am kinda unsure about that one.

there was a time when they first came out, that they offered the BM with or with out the site rail....maybe there wasn't a big call for them with a site rail...so they stopped making them with it....
..who needs a site rail anyway.....

if you tune your reg your marker will be stable and effecient........(shoot and chrono....and keep turning it up til the velocity stops incressing....then lower it back a 1/4-1/2 turn....your marker will be most efficient set up this way....with the most shots per tank possible)...

Well how long ago did you buy your black magic if it is fairly new it will take about two-three cases of paint to break in the reg before you will get good consistency. I have a blue to black fade black magic and run at 220psi at 285fps with +/-2fps over the chrono and I have done nothing at all to my gun it is totally stock. As for the no sight rail the first few models didnt have sight rails but the wgp decided that it would be cheaper to mill the body like the sto's with the tapered sight rail so they stoped milling them off and putting those cool ridges in the top. My black magic has no sight rail and I think it looks very good. As for getting more shots per tank I dont know why you would need to get more but like I said when the reg breaks everything will get better.
If getting the most shots out of your tank is that important you can get new pneumatics. suck as Aklamps. I have a friend who has a stock vertical running at 190 psi. he also put a max-flo on it so he has one of the most consitent tanks on the market. These will both increase your consistency and shots per tank. Like they said get a good reg and a good N2 tank.

Jake you obviously dont know anything about cockers or made a typo cause the pneumatics that come on the black magic are top of the line no problems with them whatsoever. The only thing that may be regarded as an inconveniece is that the pneumatic reg is not externally adjustable but it is not hard to seperate the two peices and adjust it. As for the stock reg once it is broken in it is excellent very consistent and there is no need to change it. I tryed out my buddys sidewinder reg and it had worse consistency then my stock reg. And another thing aka does not make pneumatics for the cocker. And any screw in nitro tank with the stock reg will provide excellent results. I have a black magic everything stock and I am running a 3000psi pure energy screw in tank and I am getting +/-2 fps over the chrono.

A new valve will get you more shots. Akalamp probably has the best but is liek $70, but rat 2\3 valves are plenty good enough from what ive read.
