Write your most expensive set-up for noobs that you've seen.

E-Class Orracle
Halo B
Angel AIR
Freak Barrel

He shot about 20 shots per game, got his older brother to time it for him, and he couldn't shoot over 3 bps.

Pretty sad.

I was watching a game and there was some kid around the age of 11 or 12 or so with an $800 Cocker w/ tank, barrel, hopper, etc... The kid never fired a shot the whole game and sat in the back bunker. Near the end, his dad yelled, "Boy, I did not spend $800 on that gun for you to sit there. Now get your "arse" up there and play." It was the funniest thing ever.

e bladed cocker with new pneus
AGD flatline
halo B
dye invision
dye jersey
dye pants
dye gloves
ATC cleats
neck guard
Dye attack pack

first time playing...truly sad, they guy got wasted in each speedball game i played with him, then proceeded to blame it that his timing slipped or his marker some how f***ed up...shot maybe 30 rounds a game and was spotted picking paint off the ground in the staging area

poor cocker:(

there's this one moron with a blue angel lcd that used to play at my field until i punched him out. he would lob a hopper's worth of paint at people 50 feet out of range, shoot his teammates in the back, run to the back when he found himself in a firefight, then claim to be the mvp of the day. the worst thing was, i saw him burying his angel in the sand

E-class Orracle and a phantom. Hes always there and he takes out his orracle and just lets one of the guys that work there walk it dry-firing. Ive never seen him use it before. And when he finally plays he uses his phantom and always just sits back and does nothing and calls out "help me over here guys" and when he gets out he complains to some of the people who are actually good that he had no team. I want to shoot him in the balls so bad because he always whears sports shorts and he like albino.:eyes:

I feel sorry for that angel...

once there was this guy..he wasnt a noob but he thought I was..probably cuz I had a spyder..well he was nice and stuff.but he was saying like he was the best sniper and stuff.but I knew he was just messing around..hopefully..that was the first cocker I ever touched or held...it was great..

If he's a pretty good player, then how is he a newbie?

Young, doesn't mean newbie. Just like old, doesn't mean experienced.

soooo true CK.

for me...however...

Angel iR3
Angel Air
Egg2
Boomstick barrel

I onl saw this kid play twice tho. First game, he ran to the 50, and ran back to the 30 after a couple of shots hit his bunker. the 2nd time i played against him. I was on this left side brush and i shot at the trees he was in, and i saaw him run back. He shot one shot at me. He started bragging like he was soo kool. I challenged him to a 1 on 1, but he said no, i dont need to show you my skill. I got pissed so every time i played, i looked for him and owned him :) . He never got me out. Dumb kid...

Cali would make you sick.

Quite literally...at LEAST 25% of the kids aged 13-18 have $1000 worth of equipment.

More than that at certain fields.

And about 2% of them know how to use them halfway decent. :pissed:

I saw this 10 year old kid toting a GX-3 and bragging in the parking lot before a game. I was hoping I could show him how paintball really works, but I saw him play and he would actually have kicked the crap out of me. He was like tight with some of the local shop owners and is friends with all the field regulars. I saw him a few weeks ago too with a Stock Class Phantom, so I have major respect for that kid.

lol thats good spirit. ;)

one i saw had some really awesome timmy, but when he shot it, he like shot the ground........:eyes: it seemed a bit to heavy for him cus he was all like struggling and stuff. this kid thot he would rock before his first game ever (that day) cus of his gun and haloB loader, and some type of big nitro tank (had a cover on it so i dont know what kind). me and my teammates laughed cus he was bragging b4 but was like hitting his own teammates and everything. he said hes sorry for bragging, and was pretty cool after that. we helped him out with techniques and such and told him how to shoot and not hit the ground. ;)

I dunno man, young people with 1000 dollars worth of equipment seems kind of norm to me..heres my way of thinking.

I'm 13, just got my first gun, 98 C a couple of months ago, pretty good gun, dont have the original guide pin to get the stupid stock off....but anyways.

I've been researching into a new setup that I'll be getting next year or so, from info and advice from the members of PBR and PBN(yes they actually do help), some of you guys from the cocker forum might remember the thread, so I was hunting around and I found the sites i want to buy from, and my total came around to about 913-1000 dollars, includes :

An Outkast
Evil Pipe
HPA tank + cover
KAP Flame drop, or maybe a unimount
Empire Reloader

There might be stuff i left off cause I forgot it or something but I want this gun because I'm getting better and better at paintball as I go, now the 98 C is a decent gun, reliable and everything, but an autococker (or any of the higher end guns), well...its like a sign, that your either a newb, or if your proven on the field, your a young paintballer who knows what he's doing, i want to be the latter. I have the oppurtunity to do the latter because my parents are, yes I admit, Rich, they buy me stuff when I ask, but ONLY if I'm doing good in school, so I'm gonna use this oppurtunity (cant spell :( ) and buy a high end gun, but I also know to start with a low-end gun, the percent of kids who have the really good guns, I guess they're like me, they wanna do good, but they think its easy, its "hey i got a good gun, I rox"

Now, I've only got 4 years of free, paintballing before college, and with those last 4 years I want to make them a good 4 years of paintballing, good equipment, winning tournies all that, which is why I want a higher end gun at a younger age, I've read the cocker forums and everything, learned bout timing my trigger, sweet spotting the LPR, all that.

This post probably doesnt do much with the topic, but its a nice littlle rant I wanted to get off my chest.

MrTiggleBitties
01-03-2004, 02:07 PM
I dont really care when I see a newb with an expensive gun. But I do care once I figured out he begged his dad so his dad can buy it for him.

If your dad says "Hey! Do you want me to buy you this $1,500 paintball gun?" Would you decline his offer?

I used a BE Stingray for a looong time, and I'm shopping for another one right now to start using again just for fun. Hone the barrel and polish the internals, and I'm happy. ;)

That's a n00by comment if I've ever heard one. "You can tell the player by the stuff he uses." lmao. Silly kid!

And I need to edit my previous comment...

Cali would make you sick.

Quite literally...at LEAST 25% of the kids aged 13-18 have $1000+ worth of marker.

More than that at certain fields.

And about 2% of them pretend to know how to use them halfway decent, or mistakenly think they're good players simply because they have an expensive marker. ;)

Yeah...that should cover it. :D

01-03-2004, 05:57 PM
psh...then if that's the definition of a noob you could see me from a mile away...but then again the teardrop isn't high on many peoples good barrels list but then again eggy ii....balances it out....oh well...i'll still bunker you and you can then proceed to put I was bunkered by a noob today in your sig.

My friend got the President's Student of the Year Award and got an e-class orracle as his first gun. He gets the "spoiled rich kid" thing a lot, but I guess he has natural skill because he is auditioning for ironmen and is like the best player I know. We went today, and this guy runs to the freakin' 60 at the break. He's even cool to all the newer players and we played a beginner walk-on game (more fun than advanced, like 30 vs. 30 crazy newbs, instead of 10vs10 always camping advanced) and he got 30 scared newbies to rush the other team at the start.

But, in So Cal, we do get a fair share of spoiled rich newbs. I think there should be a difference between spoiled rich kids and spoiled rich newbs.

As for me, I'm $300 from a Viking, and you can sure as hell bet that I ain't gonna be a newb with a good gun, so the stereotype doesn't work.

Oh, and today I saw a kid with a Viking who was too scared to do anything and just stuck his head out on purpose to get out from the back. And he cried when he got hit in the chest from like 40 ft away. WTF? I'm talking a 15 year old kid.

the way to tell a noob on the field, regardless of equipment used, is how much they talk about their playing skill. the really good players don't talk about how they're gonna bunker some kid; they talk about macroline fittings or the new matrix or something. listen to people's conversations, and you'll find out lots of stuff.

True, newbs will brag and say "Oh im soo good, i did this one time, i did that, wait till i get out there! i'll sniper ya!"

i myself tho wont, heck, when i showed up at our outlaw-sup-air field today (Yes, we took sup-air onto someone elses property in the desert and played) the kids were like "Man, i gotta see your trigger again, that things crazy" and then i'd go on onto the uncapped boards for spyders then the eyes, Thats when the guys w/ angels and e-cockers turn around and go "An eye on a spyder?"   good stuff

Lets see umm this kids parents own probably the 2nd best place to eat in town

Alien Species Timmy and a Ironmen timmy (yes both)
Ego2 with y board
4500psi Crossfire
Raven jersey
Dye invision, gloves, pants
Whisper barrel, Empire 10 piece, Evil Pipe
Redz pack and other pack
Coiled Remote
Lightning Drop
Dye backpack for carrying stuff

There was a tourny a team won a evil pipe he asks to buy it and pulls out 300$ cdn from his pocket.

For good player using begginer gun
Tippman 98
Dye excel barrel
Coil
He's great at paintball kinda like one shot accuracy. I was in my bunker once thinking none could hit me well there was an one inch hole he was 50 yards away 2 shots in the goggles
