I've noticed that PBGear.com is dropping the prices of their automag classics to like $240 or so for the holidays. Now I've tried Mags and Cockers and cockers are great and all, but I just dont do too great with em and I like mags more.
If I were to get one of these mag packages it'd come with various things depending on which one I bought.

Which would you guys recommend?
Is powerfeed that necessary?
And finally I know its not a complete gun (so to speak) so what kind of inline reg and other add ons would I need to get and which would you all recommend?

And if I'm dumb for doing this then tell me so lol!
here's the link btw:

Thanks guys!:D  :D

Edit: Didnt really mean that about the inline reg up there, I was thinking of a foregrip and wrote that. However if you guys know of a good reason to add one, tell me.

I would highly recommend a powerfeed on a mag. I also think the 12 volt revolution is the way to go. Add a double trigger .45 frame and your rate of fire can rival any electronic gun out there if you have a fast trigger finger. I shoot left handed, so I prefer the hopper to be on the right side of the gun. This allows the hopper to remain behind cover while shooting from the left side of a barricade.

All mags come stock with an inline reg, so you dont have to worry about that.

You will need to buy the barrel and gas hosing to connect the mags reg/valve assembly to your air source. You will also need an ASA (Air source adapter).

All those guns come with is the main body, body rail, trigger frame and the valve assembly and sear. They are sold that way so that people who want to build up a custom gun can do so without spending a lot more money for a gun that has parts they are going to replace.

Oh yeah, and definately go for the powerfeed.

Ok guys thanks for the replies, after looking, PBGear also has a package deal which includes a standard feed Automag Classic, a Smart Parts Progressive 12" Barrel, a 68ci Flatline N2 System and apparently the needed microlines to get everything working. Also it says that its possible to get it in both black and powerfeed instead of standard feed. So I'd definately go black powerfeed.
How does this sound to you all?

I have found that I've got a pretty freakin fast trigger finger and a 12v revvy was on my list of things that I need and need soon. I was lookin at the double trigger frames and I love double triggers, but I dont know if I love 70 bucks worth of double triggers, at least right away, anyone know where to get a good one cheap or cheaper?

Anything else you guys recommend adding to this package? Drop forward? Underslung grenade launcher? Jet pack?

Thanks

Thanks for all the help and suggestions, while BBT and Skanline do have some very nice guns, they're also very expensive. That Tux Mag while being very sweet looking is also insanely expensive, if I could afford it I'd rather get a timmy or something else, an RT Pro perhaps.
Anyways thanks again guys, still got no clue what I'll do, maybe I'll try to find a decently priced electro..........oh well!

An awsome deal

yes, i recomend this package, and just add powerfeed 70 and a nitro tank 80

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Actually it comes with a powerfeed. So drop $70 from all those prices.

Why would that be better than the $419 package which included the flatline system, and a progressive barrel? Not to mention the option of making it a powerfeed (black body) gun for no price increase.....?
Also is Paintballgear.com a reliable store? I've read alot of posts of people *****ing about them. Any info?

Deal I'm talking about:

Oh something else I've been wondering! If I were to buy a mag used, what kinds of questions should I ask the guy selling it? Anything about "stars" or what?

That Flatline package is a good deal. Hop on it.

They are a fairly reliable store. Out of about 15 orders with them, I've had 2 screw-ups.

One wasn't their fault. UPS lost a refused package and it took a long time to get it traced and refunded.

The 2nd time they shipped my oder to the wrong address, the 1st address I lived at when I first started ordering from them. I chalk that up to having actaully talk to a person on the phone to redeem a gift certificate.

So, if they have it in stock everything should be fine.

Realize that if you are going to upgrade the gun, that when you are finished it will be about the same price of a descent autcocker or cheap electro. That package seems to be a good deal(with powerfeed of course). You can get a Benchmark, Dye, Diamond Labs double trigger pretty cheap used on Ebay, or for about 60-70 bucks new(I think the double trigger is a must). Another option is simply buying a double trigger and choping the guard (like this one I am selling on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1015219656) Also, I would think about getting a drop forward for your tank, and a 12 volt revy.

Valadian

so then the question is would the gun be as good as or better than a cheap electro??
What if I were able to find a used micromag RT? I think I know somebody who might be willing to sell me one, havent talked to him though......

Or you could check out the one I am selling For $300. It has double trigger and a cradle allready. Chec it out in the semi trading forum here at pbreview.

It all depends on what you want. A electronic guns are nice; they have a light trigger pull, lots of options, and of course high a ROF. Automags are reliable guns, and they have a great factory warranty with them (go to http://www.airgun.com/WarrantyPolicy.html).
A micromag RT is an amazing gun...its looks totally sick, it is compact, light, and has a rate of fire that is comparable to an electronic marker. I think that Pro Team Products(maker of the micromag) has their own warranty on the gun as well, check out their website. I haven't been exposed to too many electronic guns, but I don't think there are too many different kinds, and I don't think that any of them are that "cheap". Some of them have their problems too...Halladay probably knows more about them than I.
My advise? Go with an automag or an RT. I absolutely love my PF. They are simple, they look good, they function better, you can upgrade them pretty cheap, and you don't have to charge a battery:dunce:

You can get great deals on Mags off eBay! $325 got me a barely used PF Mag w/ 12" carbon fiber barrel, 2 co2 tanks, JT mask, and a bunch of stuff.

you do not need an inline reg on a mag. It wont boost performance in any way. As for the setup here are some tips:
DONT USE CO2 on a mag it will **** up the internals
Powerfeed chops 95% less balls than standard feed, spend the extra 50$ and get it.
Here is a good setup

Automag Powerfeed
Kapp ASA Adapter and Foregrip
Microline bottomline
PMI or Kapp Drop Forward
a 68ci Fiber wrapped tank(the PMI's are great!)
Double Trigger Frame(eventually, you can shoot alot faster)
ANS Venturi Bolt
10" Dye Boomstick Barrel or 10"(or 12" ) Tear Drop barrel(not as good as boomstick but 1/2 price)

Not True.

LIQUID Co2 Will **** up the internals, but not Gas Co2. If you have a Decent Expansion Chamber, a Remote, or an Anti-Siphon Tube, it'll work just fine. Just Don't Combine a Remote/Anti-Siphon, and if you do get an anti-siphon, make sure it's made for the C/A adapter that you're using.

Expansion Chamber/Anti-Siphon in combination actually works very well.

Mags were designed and in use before HPA was used to power markers. Co2 does not mess up the valve, but liquid co2 does. Keep out the liquid co2 and you will have a working Mag.

Magadeth

All liquid will do is temporarily freeze up the valve. Once it warms up it will work fine again. Ive used co2 on my mag for 8 years with no x chamber. Its a mini, so it has the verticle ASA, and I have never had a problem with it.

just get a remote. its cheap and it will keep c02 out of ur mag. did i mention it looks super cool 2 hav the pack with a c02 tank on the back? it pretty intimadating with it like that too

What is a good mid-range HPA reg and bottle for a mag?

AutocockerFreak
10-21-2001, 09:20 AM
Your not suppose to put an inline reg on a mag

Halliday
10-21-2001, 09:22 AM
Reg: you don't need one. It has one built in

Bottle: My Crossfire stub works great for me, $120 at pballgear.com

ciaran.mooney
10-22-2001, 02:22 AM
So you get a HPA bottle and screw it into your bottom line with a hose running to the valve? That easy?
