Do you have air hooked up? The Avenger is a blowback, it won't recock without an air source.

Is there a broken paintball shard in the chamber? That could do it also.
(If not I don't really know what to tell ya. :( )

Damn you *******s piss me off! If you don't like BE stuff and are just going to flame it, STAY THE **** OUT OF THE BRASS EAGLE FORUM!!! Some people don't play enough to go out and buy $800 Autocockers or $1200 Angels. Most of us just want to go out and play every once in a while and most Brass Eagle markers are fine for that.
Now that I have that out of the way...
There are a few reasons why your gun may not be recocking.
1. When you shoot it, does it not catch on the sear and go on Full-Auto mode? (cycle very quickly)
If it does, it may be because your velocity is not turned up high enough to allow enough gas through the valve to push back the hammer. Turn your velocity up and try again.
You may also be low on CO2, however if your tank was just filled, I can't see this happening. You could try getting your tank filled again or try it on a friends gun.
2. When you shoot it, does it just hit the valve and stop like it does without CO2?
This could be because the valve mushroomed and is not allowing the valve stem to be pushed back when the hammer hits it. This could becaused by excessive firing without CO2. I know the Raptors have this problem and the Avengers might have it as well. You could buy a new valve body and stem, or remove the stem and drill the valve body with the same size drill bit it was originally drilled with.
3. There could also be something blocking the CO2 or the CO2 tank could be empty.
Check your tank on a friends gun or have it filled (you do have to have it filled before you use it for the first time). When you screw it into your gun, you should hear the gun being pressurazied. If not, either the tank is empty, or the pin in the ASA adapter is not long enough to depress the pin valve on the tank. In this case, bring it to a pro shop because I can't help you (maybe someone else can).
4. There may be unnessary friction due to a broken shell fragment
or something else.
Disassemble your gun (completly) to make sure everything can slide freely. But remeber how it came apart and what part goes where for eaisly reassembly. Oil all parts with a light oil (perferrably paintball gun oil, although I use a 3 in 1 light oil. You can also use Automatic Transmission Fluid). Reassemble and try.
That's about all I can think about for now.
If anyone (besides AutocockerFreak) has something to add, please feel free but please do it in a nice way since I am not putting anyone down (which is why I was mean to autocockerfreak, it just bugs me when ppl put down other ppl's equipment).
If anyone (besides AutocockerFreak) has a problem with what I said, please feel free to inform me via PM, E-mail, or on ICQ @ 57115298 .

Look man, I really don't give a damn what the hell you walked on to the field with the first day or the last time you played. For all I care it could be a blow gun or a .3006. Just don't come on here putting down other people's equipment. No one gives a damn what you think about B.E, Kingman, WGP, WORR, Tippman, or anyother company. The only time you should put the equipment down is when they ask for feedback for it, and even then you don't have to be a prick about it.

Hey man if you're just comin' here to bang on BE why don't you just leave. If you never owned a BE, how do you know they only last one week, hmm? If you're gonna flame, go do it somewhere else.

Just please tell me you've been oiling the avenger. That's the number one reason a BE gun doesn't recock. A newbie buys the gun and never puts oil in it or uses the wrong kind of oil.
There is probly a ball stuck in the barrel. My dad has an Avenger and it happens all the time, just squeegie it out.

I have been shootng my Avenger for aprox 6 months now. The problem I have had with recocking is caused by 2 things.
Not oiled properly or w/ the correct type of oil.
Liquid Co2 has froze up my gun.
I have been trying to do a little research and think that the Raptor vert tank adapter will fit, allowing an exp. chamber to be attached to the marker. Also it looks as if Kingman's ( maker of the Spyder ) has an adapter that will work also.
Good luck and happy splatting.:P

YOu may have several things going here...
1 - Trigger sear may be worn down.
2 - Excessive CO2 in gun
3 - Avenger suffers from same connecting pin problem as the Raptor (it breaks)
4 - damaged valve
I suspect Kingman did some contract work and may have a hand in this guns creation (due to the offset BL and Spyder threaded barrel). However this would not explain why it still has the Raptor's primary flaw (the connecting pin).
I don't know what to say, it might be an easy fix or it might almost be cheaper to get a new gun. If you decide to do this, you may want to get one that accepts Spyder barrels so you could use any you got for the Avenger.
