Do we need a Mod? [Archive] - Paintball Forums

Well guys what do ya think? Do you think we need a guy in here to clean up the occasionally thread and authorize stickies?

I have a couple ideas and I feel whoever becomes our mod(if we even get one) should listen to all of the ICD members here and construct a FAQ. The FAQ could consist of many sub-catagories. Like "Reg Comparision" and "Best Barrel".

If the "Yes" in the poll gets pretty high, then ill shoot a PM to Andrew and see what he thinks.

EDIT: I noticed there are a lot of thread views, but the poll only reflects 1/4 of the views. Please take the time to vote.

Oh yeah. IMO I feel we have great FAQs, but what Im suggesting above are a series of links that would take a person straight to what they were looking for.

Whenever I try to hint to them that we need a mod, they usually just blow me off or tell me to pm magnus if we have something that needs to be dealt with

mine id a definate yes, and I think the mod shoudl be Impya. Not sure if we have a say in who gets, it, but Impya knows alot about bushys, and I have never seen him talk down or flame people. I don't know if he has or not, just saying I have never seen him in one.

Yeah, I have gotten that too. I think if we get everyone in here to vote "Yes", then it may have them rethink it.

This place gets cluttered with junk threads all the time. Impya needs to become a mod so he can regulate.

It's fun w/o a mod, kinda. There are way too many repetitive threads and we could use a clean up but I'm not sure, it's fun doing whatever the hell you want to do. BTW: I pmed admins and mods but no responses about 2 months ago. They don't care. Maybe we should start reporting the newb's repetitive threads. One way to get a mod, goto the pbr recommendation forum and small talk and post a thread.

Of course we do. ICD forums section seem to be very understanding and usually don't flame and such. One Mod would be good...especially when he is a reg like ImpYa.;)

Yeah I agree we do need a Mod and I honestly think it should be Imp. I dont know if he'd like to take the job, but he's definitely one of the most knowlegable poster, if not the most knowlegable, in this forum. I vote yes to mod, and yes to Imp being it.

BTW, to they usually appoint new mod positions for forums, or just use older mods?

Mods are appointed according to how much Sheepy LOFFS them :D So pretty much I'm a shoe-in ;)

Aight, here's the deal guys. In order to become a moderator you have to be an agent... Seeing as Impya is NOT an agent, nor does Andrew really want to appoint any new ones soon, chances are he won't be modding in here soon.

I've asked Andrew to let me Moderate ICD. I do actually own a BKO and have some knowledge about them (although not near as much as some of you guys). I could answer some questions and certainly could keep the forum nice and clean.

Than I'd recommend Impya or Cactus Man as an agent. Then work them to becoming a Moderator. Than they can come in here and be the cool l337 ICD Moderator.

That sound cool do you guys? Or do you all just hate me and not want me in here?

I know Cactus Man wouldn't mind. :wink2: :love:

I just goin into the threads and read the new posts everyday, that adds up, I'm sure im not the only one either so it might just be that people are coming to look and have already voted, who cares anyways that other mod guy person is gonna be the mod :| , I liked having no mod but it will be nice to see a clean ICD forum...BTW: I'm not the only1 who voted no...:P
