Ok having seen PBGear's recent price drop in mags (68 classic) I've been thinking about getting one. However I've got my bro trying to convince me to get an electro, but is there anyway I'm going to be able to get one that will come out to being anywhere near as cheap as the deal they've got on mags?

Also I know alot of you will say that electro is the way to go, but is the mag really going to be that much worse than something like an impulse (which I've tried and dont like) or a Bushy/varient?
My bro uses a Defiant, but thats way too much money, since I can get a 68 classic with powerfeed and with a barrel (12" SP progressive), microline hose connection, and a 68ci flatline tank for about $420 from PBGear.com, then I was thinking maybe throw on a double trigger frame, possibly a sight rail, and some stickies, and anything else that might be needed (a bolt or something perhaps??). That should still be a whole lot cheaper than getting a defiant which would be around 550+ or so and that would be without a tank......

Anyhow if anyone can give me some guidance and a good reason to not go this route I'd be grateful, thanks guys!

If you can afford a electro go for it, they are all up to the same standard i.e. e-mag, angel, bushy etc. If money is more of a problem go for the mag they are great guns reliable and easy to clean also you dont get a crappy stock barrel you get the one *you* want!

I saw that same deal, and will probably go for it, unless I decide to get either an electronic trigger frame, or a hpa tank for my Spyder with my christmas money this year. I don't know though. It's a pretty good deal, but I've already put a lot into my Spyder...

well with how much you said your buying, you could get a set up like mine (look down ;) ) i got my bushy, as in sig for $400 with out the tank and than i spent $180 on the tank, i think i got a great deal for my set up, check out this forum for good deals on bushys - http://forums.paintballcity.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=64 but i would definately rather have a nice bushy than a mag, and IMO i like bushys better than defiants, bout defys are coo too :D

get the mag you were talking about, add powerfeed for 70 bucks. that brings you up to 490, then get an AGD double trigger frame for 110...600

you have a nice gun, nice frame, and nice tank.

it will cost you about 600 to buy a decent electro alone

plus with the AGD frame you can fire reaaaaaal fast, almost as fast as an electro, sometimes even as fast

Haha, i've yet to see any p/f mag out shoot my marker. ANd decent elctros start at 400, not 600. The intelli frame doesn't shoot faster than a dye frame.

Mags have an absolutly horrid resale value. They leak like monkey on COpoo.

Mags are 1993 technology. The game has changed. Get a marker that is part of todays tech. Mags used to be amazing, but then again, so did digital watches. I got a bushy after my mag, and i've yet to look back.

Well then Richy give me a suggestion of some decent electro marker that I can put together along with a good tank, and any other add ons you'd recommend. If you start hitting 600+ bucks though I might start having problems, but gimme a hand anyhow. Thanks!

Oh something else I've been wondering! If I were to buy a mag used, what kinds of questions should I ask the guy selling it? Anything about "stars" or what?
