Spyder Xtra

Hello all! im thinking of getting a spyder Xtra. I would like to know what the good and the bad points are of this gun. Also, ive heard that the macro/micro line is crap and i should upgrade 2 a steel hose. Does anybody have a steel hose on their Xtra? if so what Kinds of things did you need to get for it(adapters exe.)

i just got an Xtra on sept 26 and it is SWEET as for the hose mine hasn't leaked yet as i plan to get a stainless braided if you get a braided u need a 6inch steel hose and 2 metric to standard adaptors.

I have had my Xtra since around April or May and I have not had a single problem except for the micro line leaking. I have had 3 breaks in 9000+ rounds which is a very good ratio. But like HondaRacer said just replace the mircoline with a 6 inch steel braided hose and 2 metric to US adaptors.

Someone on another board said to get a 4 1/2 inch steel-braided hose. I thought that would be a little too small and thought 5 inches would be good...is a 5 inch hose long enough, or should I go for the six inch hose?

i'd get the 6 in; u should have a little slack in the line; u don't want a guitar string:D

Hey Where can i get those adapters for the steel braided.? If you find a website that has them please tell me. i looked at pbgear.com and they say like 1/4 to 1/8 is that the right one or do i get the 1/8 to 1/4?? thanx all!

Here are the adaptors you need, remember to get 2 of them:

Remember to wrap teflon tape around the threads of the hose before you put the hose into the adaptors.

Warlock, waint until you get the xtra, throw some p-ball oil on each end of the macroline and see if it leaks before you spend the money on the SS hose.

Thanx man. Im going to do that(wait untill i have any problems) The only reason why i ask is that alot of people in the review section of the site said that their macro/micro line leaked. It seemed to be a pretty common problem. i will upgrade to s.s. if I experience any problems. After a barrel upgrade, What kind of reg should i get and will that still keep liquid Co2 from getting in my gun or is that just with an x-chamber?? PLease post some pics of your extras!! Id like to see them.

A new sqeegee(Jerk sqeegee with swab)

And a new barrel plug!

I love my Xtra. I went from the microline to ss line now I have macroline. It shoots so great though. It's an old pic I have a JnJ on it now, and a DZ II. Hopefully I can get some new pics up later.

im looking into getting a xtra, but for a reasonable price i can only find it in bright green or steel blue. anyone know where i can get a spyder xtra in black, dark blue or any other color other than green or light blue?? thanks

The only colors they come in so far are the green and blue I believe.

You can get an xtra in green anywhere. The blue ones JUST came out, while green has been out for quite a while.

Thats the color they come in. It's not a bright green it's just the pictures of some are bright green, and I have even seen some that look gray.

igot my new spder Xtra!! PBgear.com sent me a steel blue one instaed of the apple green. It's cool cuz it came with a Stainless Steel hose already on it!! IM sooo syched to play on sunday. It has yet to be shot!! Virgin spyder. I thought it would be more of a baybe blue but its really a nice looking steel blue. Ill get pictures up as soon as i possibly can.. :D IM SOOOO HAPPY!!!! (cant you tell)

That's awesome. I am thinking of getting an ESP frame for my Xtra. If you want the stock barrel to be somewhat accurate get medium paint that is about .690 bore like PMI Premiums. The stock on my Xtra was surprisingly accurate for a stock but I got a Dye SS anyways and now it shoots darts.

so you are saying the blue xtra isnt that *** powder blue like in the pic???? im really confused because i hear they only make it in the apple green and light blue. but ive seen pictures of it in grey dark green,,, dark blue.. its wierd. and u said the hose is already steel braided, is that only for the blue one??? thanks for the help

well i dunno. They sent me a Steel blue one with the ss hose on it but it might have been a mistake by pbgear.com. its good mistake but a mistake nun the less. you could try emailing pbgear.com to find out. there e-mail adress is on their site
