My brother and I just got into paintball and got 2 VERY cheap paintball guns from our neighbors (college grads who don't play anymore). I've been researching paintball guns for a while now and I think I'd like to upgrade to the Custom 98...after we play a few rounds and figure out if i like paintball and how into I plan to get, as well as what features i'd like to have on a gun.
How much could I sell the Pro-Lite for?
I figure I could probably sell it for the most $$ by placing an ad in the local paper, or possibly I could trade it (in the "trade" forum here).
Basically, i'm wondering how much $$ i could get from selling the Pro-Light to go towards the purchase of a custom 98 ($132-$140).
AND YES, I REALIZE HOW OLD THE PRO-LITE IS (i can't even find any reviews or mention of it anywhere...sad i guess, but it'll work for me for a while)

You could probably get $30 to $40 dollars for the pro-lite. First questions is how much are you willing to spend? How long do you plan on playing? often or not very often?

1) wanting to spend under $150
2) I'd like to keep playing for years...wanting to get really into it.
3) i'd like to play several times a month (maybe even join a team)
Right now, I'm kinda leaning toward a Spyder (especially the Xtra) as the gun that I'm going to buy upon selling the Pro-Lite. From what i've seen and heard, they seem more like what i'm looking for...but i definitely want to shoot a 98 Custom, an Xtra, and possibly some others.

I actually have no clue how much it is. You might want to try the "how much is my gun worth thread" though.

You can get over 50 dollars maybe, if you can clean it up and get nice pictures it would be a good idea to put it on ebay.
If you are seriously considering any spyder, id look into pmi piranha's, they are very very similar in design, but they are made in USA not asia, and dont have screwy metric threading and other dumb things like offset bottomline. The made in USA alone is more then enough reason to get a piranha and not a spyder.

Spyders are ok. I personally think they are all the same more or less...and they chop balls a lot! my friend played on his new imagine for just 3 hours and it had already chopped one...whereas with my tippmann 98c i got from a friend for 40(!) bucks, ive been playing on it for about 3 months or so, and i've only chopped 2. One was because of my own stupidity, i was low on co2. So long story short, get a tippy. You'll love it.

My mechanical piranha i used for a year never chopped a ball besides when my local store sold me some "fresh" football shaped balls, got about 200 chops then :D Spyders are generally pooter compared to piranhas, at least quality wise. Tippmans are good guns, harder to work on, longer, good guns still.
