What are your thoughts on macrolines? Are they worth it? Are they safe? Do they ever rupture? Leak? C'mon, I need some facts! I posted here because I know I may get more responses. I posted same question in the Tippmann forum and only got 2 replies in 3 weeks! I own a Custom 98...great gun!

aight i can help you cause i have some. my macro line does leak on accasion, some people say the hose is too short and some say other ****, but i keep changing to a linger hose and it doesnt work. once when i was at the field some kids fitting "let go" of the macroline and his tank emptied real fast. but i do like mine alot besides the occasional leaks

There was a post about this earlier (only mentioning this because it had some good info) Someone said macro could burst but I don't remember the specifics on that. I use macro and sometimes when I screw in my tank the hose leaks a little at the connection, but I just wiggle the hose around a little and the leak stops. Go macro, it's cheap and easy to install.

I've had both micro and macro (dont get micro) and neither of them have caused any problems. Although I have switched to macro due to certain flow probs. Never had any of them leak or burst. I always carry some spare macro hoses. www.countypaintball.com has macro line kits (2 elbows and 3 1 foot hoses for 10 bucks...good deal. Personally when I get my cocker it will have kapp swivel elbows with ss hoses. I like the look of them better but didn't have the money at the time.

Thanks. I have plans for my C98, and getting a macroline may be part of my set up. I just want to be assured that the possibility of the line breaking or bursting is slim. If macrolines are as safe as steel braided hose I will probably go macro. I think I can live with minor leaks that can be fixed by a quick wiggle of the hose, I just don't want any bad suprises.

sometimes it will leak if the fitting is grabbing enough, so if it isnt, just gert a flat head screw driver, stick it in the end part and turn it, thus grabbing the macroline tighter. which is what i have to do to stop my leaks

If you have macroline always have spare hose with you. Macroline will burst on occasion and that's just a given. I've got teamates that go through 3 or 4 hoses a year and that's by no means high. If you use CO2 you run a really good chance of bursting your macroline, but with nitro it's substantially slimmer. I've used stainless steel line in the past, and there isnt any real difference in flow, you just dont need to worry about stainless lines breaking on you. Currently, I'm using macroline because I just prefer the looks over stainless. Hope that helps

My friends has a shutter and he's always messing with that macroling on the bottom and is trying to have it switched(by a pro shop) to stainless; I personally prefer stainless mainly for the listed reasons (won't break, etc) but also to me SS is just easier but that's me
