Brass Eagle- ICE II

Well, I am thinking about getting a paintball gun. I do not want to go broke buying won so I would like to get a pretty good deal. I saw some good reviews for the most part on the Brass Eagle ICE II. I have found the "Clear" players kit for ONLY $86.00. I saw it most places for $150. Do you guys that have experience think that this is a good "Starter" gun ?

get a basic spyder. when you get a talon your stuck with it, people wont buy it from you and you can barely upgrade it. trust me, get a spyder or something, you get what you pay for, and in the case of the gun your talking about you get the plastic you pay for too.

and you have a good starter gun that isnt made out of plastic that is upgradeable and will last u a long time

I started with the stingray ice, and i haven't had many regrets yet. The only thing i've had problems with is field stripping and the co2 coming unscrewed. They are right, though. Save up some more $ and buy a spyder compact.

They have various gun packages there if you need anything..

all their packages comes with mask, hopper, elbow, co2, barrel plug and some balls to get started....

Its 50 bucks more then the stingray.... but its a better investment...
Although... sometimes the stingrays may suprise you and shoot pretty well, its harder to sell if you want to get a different gun later on..

There is nothing wrong with a stingray at all as long as you plan to upgrade it at least a little.

You can buy lots of stingrays from trusted companies off ebay for 50$ a piece. (get the black ones)

Then, buy a better barrel. After this, buy a starfire bolt (also found on ebay from companies) and a detente ball (one company on ebay, who sells most stingrays and starfire bolts, the bolt comes with a free detente ball)

After you install all these things (not hard, http://www.stinggroup.addr.com/ go there for disassembly instructions, a HUGE LOAD of other upgrades, and just about everything for the stingray) you should have a damn good gun. (considering price) if you do the trigger upgrade found on that site, you can get up to 8 bps.

Yeah you probably can get a stingray off ebay for 50 dollars. Skittle is offering it for 45 (5 bucks less) and it comes with a 12oz co2 tank.

Do you have a stingray? If so, have any pics? (i wanna see if u fixed it up or anything..)

I understand that you are looking for a good starter gun from BE or maybe kingman, Ill tell you from experience, I first bought a stingray for $100 when i first got into the game, then i could only sell it for $30, then i moved to the raptor which is a smart move if you are going with BE, because it is upgradeable. Now that i am getting out of the game because of bad knees I am selling a Raptor Green With a bottomline setup and a Lapco Bigshot. This gun is great and surprisingly accurate. I have never chopped a ball. I have cleaned this gun after every game and it is in great shape. In this pkg is the Gun, stock barrel, Bigshot, mask, 9oz tank, squeege, quick adapter, barrel plug, and an elbow. this does not come with a hopper. THis is a absolutly great gun and i have enjoyed it very much. I am selling it for $160. This gun outshoots any of the $100 spyder's, i know because my friends have some and i do play with them. Yeah after you upgrade your stingray $100 its equal to a Compact which is way cheaper

Yeah the gun is like $70 and the barrel is $20, and to make the barrel useful u need a sight for $15, and in the end your gun is pretty good, but u still have some problems. For example, my stingray comes uncocked alot because the co2 constantly comes unscrewed. That's what will really mess you up during a game.

hey i started out with a BE stingray 2!!! i also have no regrets! it's what got me hooked from the start.

and if you want to save money in the game of paintball!!!... I really dont think that is possible!

yeah i like my stingray, but i should've started with a tigershark. It is, in my opinion, the best starter gun.

I just don't know about brass eagle, they have horrible ratings everywhere, you could get an avalon GT commando which has 9.5 reviews here at xpaintball,com for under 100. maybe check that out.

You could look into a pg1 or tornado, they are 40 to 50 dollars and metal.

I've tried with the slingshot and the paint doesn't bust on people. You can just buy a pack of paint and THROW them for $5!! WHAT THEN???!!!

Actually i use the slingshot to shoot balls in my backyard sometimes. It breaks on contact.... anyways i was only half serious about using a slingshot for a game... get a vm-68... its pretty old-school but reliable.... myself, I have a jt excellerator 4.0....

avolon guns are total crap. my freind has a diamond gt. it didnt work out of the box. i fixed it and it is trash. imo.
id much rather have my stingray.

you got one gun so you judged the entire company, yes the diamond gt isnt a great gun but i know people who have the commando(first one) and they all like it, plus its got a 9.2 here, and good ratings at other small review sites ive been too.

ok, first off, if you buy a 'ray, youll HAVE to buy some plastic beads, go to www.stinggroup.addr.com tehn to teh mods, and look around for the correct size, if you dont do this, it will wear a small sharp thingy, i dont know what it should be called inot your bolt, then every shot chops, its a very easy mod, and tippmann 2x trigger shoes fit on a ray, just you gotta cut off teh plastic part under teh trigger, teh newer ices are crap, teh hopers they come wiht are 1 piece, making it harder to clean, and they are made out of a very flimsy plastic, and the neck doesnt fit hte elbow right, and the plastic breaks very easily, my ice, which i boutght used, has way less damage, even though its almost a year older, and been much more played wiht, then a friends neew ray, i bought a qb from trueflight, and that barrel is ok, i also modified teh stock barrel, adn it now is silent. I now have a impy, and im still kidking butt, all my friends bought m98s, i was the only 'ray for a while, then i pursueded two new guys toe not buy a tippmann, but teh ;ay instead, they did. I, along wiht one other 98 guy, are good friends, adn have been good players and almost never onthe same team, me wiht my vulcan pump, him wiht his talon, me wiht my tigershark, him with his tippmann, me wih my 'ray, him with his tippmann, me wiht my cocker, him wiht his mag, me wiht my impy, him wiht his mag, were at the same competing level the whole way, and i was laughed at by some idiots for the ray, they STILL cant figure out how to take apart their tippmanns, there just not technical, well, visit www.stinggroup.addr.com
