I just bought one and notice shoot down with it. Stock reg was fine. Now i am stuck with it. I disassembled, cleaned and lubed it with some WLGrease. Now it seems like it recharging, OK.

A buddy of mine keeps on telling me i have to by an LPR kit to make it work...

I thought this was an HPR. Does anyone know what he is talking about. I have heard of the kit...but i always thought it was to make your BL Torpedo a Low Pressure Reg.

the kit was for pre 2004 bkos. With the 2004 they have moved the LPR from between the trigger frame and the HPR (your bl torpedo) to just under the barrel. This allows you to use a fmd microrock like you seem to already have in your setup as your LPR just like a b2k. The old kit allowed you to change out the ASA block so that you could mount a LPR under the volumizer, giving you more room between the HPR and the trigger frame as well as the ability to use any 3rd party LPR you wanted. Hope this helped.

Oh and yes if you cleaned and re-lubed your torpedo and its recharging fine now you should be ok, it probably just got a little dry. Now you know what to look for if it happens down the line.

Thx alot for the pointers. I was just confused, because when i bought the BL Torpedo i figured i was intending to pop in and go. As my friend saw it was not recharging correctly he said i needed to buy the LPR kit for my BLT.
I didn't really take his word for it...he explanation for the reason why it wasn't recharging fast enough was: " Its a HPR so it made for HPR guns. You need to get the LPR kit for the BLT so you can you use with your BKO which is a LPR marker."

I am was confused...i went from spyder to a dark angel which was not as involved as a BKO.

yeh a bko is a low pressure marker but it contains a HPR and a LPR he may of taking it as its a low pressure marker so therefor only needs a LPR; yeh i have had a ir3 for bout 1 1/2 yrs now i think im thinkin of selling it and moving onto something else, i will prob never sell my bko though i love it.

Yea, just because its a LP gun...don' mean it can't have a HPR. This guy has been in paintball for a while. One thing i noticed tho...is that he has never upgraded a marker...ever.

to each his own. If he doesnt like tinkering that is his option, everyone is different in paintball you will learn that quickly. There are some that will pick a marker up and will want to get the best out of it period no matter what kind it is, there are others that if it works why work on it. I myself no matter what it is have to play with it and see what i can/cant do its part of the fun for me.

It sounds like your friend is saying you need an LPR kit to get your HPR recharging fast. If that is what he is saying, then he might be confused.

An LPR wont recharge fast if the HPR isnt recharging fast, but a HPR will recharge fast, even if the LPR isnt recharging fast.

Do you get shoot down on your HPR when you start to shoot fast? If you do...then the problem is with your HPR. If you dont then your LPR might be dry or dirty. You can fix this by cleaning the LPR.
