i have an idea to copy the affects of a flatline without having "the Banana". since some barrel materials have less friction than others, i theorize that u could get the backspin of a ball by having the top half of the barrel a material (say aluminum  ) and the bottom half a frictionless material (stainless steel or something) or get the required fricton by having the top half of the barrel a little smaller than the bottom like a pear. since i am not a barrel manufacturer i cannot put my plan into motion. i hope some barrel maker reads this and makes the next big thing.
i welcome you to call me a ******* if u think my brilliant idea is dumb.:D

Right..so tell me how the ball is going to exit the chamber and go into the barrel.. Do you have a drawing of this "product".

Wouldnt that break the ball?

******* j/k
It sounds like a good idea, but you would have to talk to a barrel manufacturer about what they think since they are the experts and then test it out. There are many factors that could make this idea work or not.

it would probably work even better if you cut a stock tippmann barrel in half then put on the stainless steal:laugh:

Actually, I thought of that. I think it's been done too, but the different materials just didn't have enough influence on the ball to spin it at the desired rate to get a "flatline" effect. If you did try something that was rough enough, it'd probably be so rough it would break the ball.

Pig, when you click on the quote button, it'll bring up a window to type in except for some code and the original text. Delete the text you don't want to quote and it automatically inserts the "Originally posted by..."
