ok ive heard a big debate on polishing the internals of the 98C but i think it may help it i polish where the bolt slides...on the bad side people have said it is bad because you take out the porous areas that hold gun oil..on the good its much smoother.....im just using this analogy....a car engines piston chamber is smooth but still retains oil for lubrication so why wont my marker....

A bore on a car engine is smooth in a way. But it is also honed, and if you look at one closely you will see a cross-hatch pattern from there the hone went thru. It is still smooth, but the micro scratches hold oil.

That is why I reccomend polishing the internals with steel wool, it makes it smooth, but leaves the micro scratches to hold the oil or whatever lubricant you use.

Check this out, it shows both ways.

yeah ive been there several times checking it out and they beef it up but honestly i feel that it could go two ways...if it worked so well why didnt tippmann do it from the factory and on the flip side why do people say it wont hold oil.....im just trying to get both sides because that is not something that one can just undo without using sandpaper to scour up the internals again...any assistance is appreciated

Well, Tippmann probably didn't do it to save manufacturing time, and money.

Some guns operate smoothly from the factory, some don't.

If it's already smooth you can leave it, if it's not polish it with steel wool to smoothen it up.

Too risky, that might chew up your internals like a fat guy on a Christmas ham.

I actually polished mine with a Dremel and it worked perfectly. I just knew how to do it.

i went ahead and did it with the dremel and while i was at it i shaved off the lettering on the side......getting some filler and going to fill in the warning indentations at the back of the gun and airbrush that mo fo up.....havent hooked up air yet but it does actuly seem like the bolt is moving smoother
