i got a 21 vert feed cocker and if i put my hand over the vert feed port i can feel some gas get blown out of it. does this mean it needs to be timed better or is it normal?

ok, this is the best way to find out...
1. made sure there is nothing obstructing the barrel (barrel plug) because that will cause blowback throught the feed tube.
2. Put a piece of tissue over the feed tube and pull the trigger without shortstorking
3.If the tissue was sucked in a little, then you have no blowback
If the tissue was blown, then you do have blowback and it improperly timed. using your hand can be very subjective.

If you do have blowback, take it to your local airsmith and ask them to show you how to time your gun. Or better yet, ask a friends who knows how to time a cocker. Hope I helped.
