For those of you who have upgraded to an aftermarket barrel (which i'm assuming is most of you since you're posting in the "barrel and paint" forum), what have you done with your stock barrel that you've gotten rid of?

Can you sell them for any money?
Do you just keep them as an extra part?
Do you throw them away?

I have an extra stock barrel from my newly bought spyder imagine (my first gun), so i was wondering what i should do with it.

You can try to sell it but chances are you will get little to no $ for it. Never throw it out, you can always keep it as a backup.

You can polish the inside of it and use it as an alternative barrel if it's a different length than your aftermarket. It works pretty decently when you put some elbow grease into it.

there was this exact same named thread like 4 months ago:) I don't know how I remember that...

I try to sell mine. Or I use it for bottle rockets.

I hang on to it. Never know when a superman dive could go wrong and KIA your barrel.

actually here's a legit question on stock barrels.

How many don't have porting? Like the stock cocker doesn't. but what other's don't?

Stock I believe only the VF 'Cockers. Most have some because it makes people think they're better.

I have a question sort of related to this...would the stock barrel on my imagine be a lot better than the stock barrel on my friends BE eradicator?cuz I wanna sell it when I get me a cp2piece.:D

Probably, especially if you polish it.

I don't know Spyder stock barrels are pretty trashy.

Both of them aren't micro honed at all so they should be pretty close. BE barrels aren't actually as bad as you would think but they aren't close to good either.

even SP barrels aren't true honed.

psh...teuf..I know i'm a noob for life. At least I face the facts. Unlike some of us......:P

my stock imagine barrel has somewhere between 15-20 elliminations in 6 games(yes I keep track)... I use mine sometimes to force me to get closer to my opponents. It makes the games more fun.:)

I got a 14 inch CP, but I still have my stock barrel, I use it once in a while. It's way too loud though.

I think about using my stock barrel. I dream about it too. The thing is, I play speedball most of the time, and I'm close enough where accuracy won't matter too much (cause I shoot about 20 shots...just in case:D), but I just stick with my aftermarket barrel because I paid $40 for it and I don't want that money wasted, all that while my stock barrel collects dust...poor stock barrel...I should use it next time I go...nah

If you take 20 shots to get someone out when you're aiming at them as opposed to 10 shots... you're out twice as long, meaning someone can take ou out more easily.

Nah...I overshoot them...

i use mine to shoot random stuff so i dont mess up my after market barrel

i just lay stuff an inch into the barrel (so it wont scratch my breech) and i fire (as long as i dont tilt back). One thing that is fun to shoot are venturis that have been taken out, try sharpening the screw end and fireing one of those bad boys at a wooden fence. its like a whole new version of darts

kinda hard to aim that thing cuz the stuff inside moves around without a "detent"

Hmmm...that sound pretty interesting...:eyes: ;)

What I did with my stock Victor barrel is to cut it with a pipe cutter to ~4 inches. After that, I smoothed out the burr on the end. It works great, and the accuracy isn't that bad either. I use it for indoor "urban" combat.

I was also kinda wondering. I know ottersc does alittle on polishing the internal chamber of the gun. Would this be the same thing?
