y'know, the impulse forum might be a bigger help than the newb forum. off you go, now...

New Designz is a company, they make a delrin bolt, its a very good bolt, you should get it. Along with a good set of internals, I reccomend a brass hammer, slik shot ram shaft, and a RIP valve, all of those are made my New Designz.

Also you might want to think about getting an LPR, or at the least a tapeworm.

Good luck with the Impy.

Upgrades I would get immediately:

-Halo B for 110$ (from www.pbgear.com)
-New Designz Stubby Derlin bolt (also called stubby equalizer) or a Strange bolt (basically the same thing) for 30$
-HPA (High Pressure Air) Tank (Crossfire, Centerflag or PMI/Pure Energy) for no more than 210$
-LPR kit (either the Smart Parts kit or the New Designz kit, there is no performance difference) for 100$

Upgrades that aren’t necessary, but are boost the impulse’s performance greatly:

-New Board (either a WAS board or a Genesis board-for more info on the WAS board go to www.wickedairsportz.com and for Genesis board go to www.exarin.com) for no more than 160$
-OTB frame, for 130$
-RIP valve
-New Designz Rat hole hammer or mid-wieght hammer
-Silk Shot ram
-Freak Kit, for 180$
-Drop forward (which ever brand suits you, I like the shocktech ones), for 40$

Here are just some notes about upgrading the impulse:

-It is amazing how a new board will help you shoot faster. I think it has something to do with Genesis and WAS board using better micro switches than the normal vision and non-vision board, but what ever it is, it sure works. I can got a consistent 22bps with my WAS board and I can get a consistent 22 bps on the Genesis also; with the stock vision and non-vision boards I could only get a consistent 18bps.

-The stock teardrop rocks. When I bought my RJr I didn’t have much money after I bought it so I couldn’t buy a barrel. It took me ½ a year to upgrade my teardrop just because its performance was so good that I didn’t need to. The only reason I ended up buying a new barrel, was because I was sick of buying the right sized paint for the barrel (although this shouldn’t be a problem for you) and I got a good deal on a DYE barrel kit.

-I can’t stress enough how important a halo is. It lets you shoot fast and will never limit how fast you can shoot (a Halo B can hold a consistant 26 bps and provide 51 bps for bursts). You must buy a Halo B!

-I also can’t stress enough how you should go to www.kamworld.net/paintball/ImpulseFAQ.html to learn about impulses. If you spend 1 or 2 hours at this site you will never have to ask any one (or me, not that I mind-I live to help people) for help with your impulse again. Go visit this site as soon as possible and go through ever link on it.

-Make sure you balance the internals of your impulse correctly. If you don’t, your impulse will, um, suck! Got to www.kamworld.net/paintball/ImpulseFAQ_Upgrades.html#U22 to learn more about how much your internals should weigh.

-You might want to buy internals that are a little hard to install from www.e-paintballoutlet.com at the same time when you buy your RJr, because www.e-paintballoutlet.com will install anything you buy with their guns at the same time for free. Buy everything I listed above, unless I said otherwise, from www.e-paintballoutlet.com.

-Go to http://www.kamworld.net/paintball/animationimpulse.gif to see a computer animation of how, basically, an impulse works.

Good luck

that's a pretty good deal.

yeah, but the halo isn't needed. an eggy will feed fast enough. especially with a z board. i think lprs are nice to have. the smart parts lpr kicks a**. it rules. also anything that is new designz, you can't go wrong with it. rule of thumb.;)
