Well last night i posted all this stuff that people said ill put down there biggest reasons to not getting a Shocker
1. They are way to heavy and long. I always say that if you cant lift more then 5lbs then your a wuss and hey if im not mistaken the barrel is detachable
2.They are a HUGE gas hog. I respond with can your gun get 800 shots with a Co2 tank let alone be able to switch from co2 to n2?
3.Smart parts means Crap, they make crap and are no better then Tribal and they dont exist. I say, Smart Parts has a damn good rep for such a big company for customer service.
4.The Board is crap. This is the one that gets me they apparent say SP boards fry a lot, well i havent heard about this at all.
5.They are slower then most other electros. Umm if 11.25 bps is slow then i dont know what the hell your thinking.
6.Cockers are better guns. Umm if you arent ready for a mans gun like the shocker then i guess
7.Cockers are way more accurate. No i think not Shockers are right on Par if not better then the Cockers in Range and in Accuracy (WGP standard not the custom ones those go either way)
8.SHockers are maintence horrors. HEy if you are illeterate i can understand that one but the shocker manuals are suppose to be the most detailed one out.
9.Get a Bob or ICD gun instead. These are really popular in my area so everyone says get these to hell if i said bushy they would have all said Hurray but i said Shocker and they all got pissed.
10.Who is gonna work on it? Myself or i will send it to someone else out of state or in state. Since there are no SP techs near hear.
But i dont know they kind of sank in today when i went to the field today and i was like why dont i just get a COcker but then i was like no you cant but then i got home today and i started to think about it again. What do you think Shocker bretheren what should i do. Stay the course or lead off. My gun should be here next week i can cancel the order now if i have to give so PROS AND CONS come on

I say just make sure to keep your Shocker in working order and kick some tail on the field.
People on my team liked to shoot down my Shocker when something went wrong, but they had probs with their Angels too.

My shocker hasn't had any problems. Just keep it greased and you will be fine. They are very accurate. They are faster then cockers, and they are not that heavy. If people want t bash them then they can but you will not regret buying it man. It is one of the most reliable markers out there.
Stay the course man.

Hmm well, my shocker with a drop and lapco bigshot is shorter than my buds tippman with 14" ceramic. I hate to tell the cocker fanatics, but cockers and shockers are right in the same league when it comes to weight. I'm not downing cockers, but if you want a light gun, a cocker is not it... Plus a shocker IS faster than a cocker (at least every cocker I have ever seen).
My shocker weighs just over 4lbs without the tank or revy (I have a butchers scale)
They aren't hard to work on, just different. You can't go pulling out the hammers and vice grips. I played yesterday with some new players. They had tippmans, rebels, mags. I was the only player that didn't break a ball all day.
I have a 240z co2 and get around 900 shots.. plenty for me. I mean come on, you just shot $40 worth of paint, and you are worried about $5 worth of co2??
I had a s/f shocker and now a V-Sport with a glacier, and haven't had, or even heard of any problems with boards "burning out". If it did happen, its probably some kid trying to do a 9volt mod, and using a fresh alkaline, or crossing the wires. All it takes is once and your board will be gone. Thats not the boards fault, its just poor treatement by the user.
Buy yourself a large tube of grease. Some precision screwdrivers, a good set of allen wrenches, and keep plenty of paper towels handy. Thats all you need to work on a shocker. I use a pair of surgical forceps to take out the solenoid pistons for cleaning. Tweezers work fine too. Use fresh grease. Dow33 WILL get old after a year.
They really do need a trigger job though, I love mine after I reworked it, but it was clanky when new.
Shockers are as, if not more accurate than any gun out there. I have never seen a gun that shoots better, or quieter. My glacier shoots full auto on 12bps flawlessly. That is as fast as my shocker can cycle reliably, but its also the max feed on my modified revy so its perfect.
Shockers are great guns, but they are not everything to everyone. Some like a very light gun, while others like to say "my gun shoots 16 bps (even though my revy can't feed that fast and if I put on a warp its as heavy as a shocker anyway...)"
I wouldn't give a 12 year old newbie a Shocker. Its too big and complex for them. If you can't keep a rebel shooting, you don't need a shocker yet. Shockers are for experienced players only. Newbies buying shockers is why they have the "hard to work on, break a lot, too heavy" reputation.
I don't think I would buy a new shocker right now though.. there are too many great buys on used ones floating around right now.
Bottom line- You won't find a quieter, more accurate marker. I grease mine after every day of play, and never have problems. My shocker suits my style of play perfectly. I can keep my Bigshot on and play front, or switch to my AA and quietly provide cover from the back.
Timing is crucial in Shockers, so take the time to get yours right before making judgement about these fine markers.
Good Luck!

Yeah i think im gonna stay with the shocker
IM not a newbie im almost a Am-a but our team hasnt fully graduated to it yet were still testing the water in the Am world.
Yeah but i think im gonna stay with it i mean i liked it the first time i played with it back in the day(3months ago) so i think it just matters if i appreciate the gun.

Diablo,
I sure don't think you're a newbie, I just wanted any new players reading this to know that a shocker probably isn't the best gun for a new player.
Its always hard making a switch to a different gun. A marker is very personal. Everyone wants to think their marker is the best because everyone wants confidence in their gun while playing. I sure don't want to be running around thinking "I wish I had a different marker". After you get used to a shocker, I think you will love it. Just be sure to get a shorter barrel for those tight courses (a multi tipped freak is very nice).
Enjoy your new marker, and keep us posted about how you like it.

Alright ill tell you peeps how i like it. I know i will like it a hell of a lot more then i liked me cocker that cocker actually made me think why do i have this maker on the field i hated it. I was just gonna buy a Bushy or a Defiant and use it in the back for awhile or the front since i play both but then i was introduced to the shocker and i loved it. So i dont think owning my own will bother me much. Alright the Diablo:shocker chronicales willl be updated everyweek i play wich is like every other weekend.

In all honesty, no. I am glad I cancelled my order though. I shot an Eclipse Shocker and loved it. I put my order in the next day. I waited 6 months before cancelling the order. I shot the other one that came in from the same order, and I hated the trigger on it. I shot the Eclipse stock trigger, and the trigger after the guy did some work to it. Either way I still hated it.
Anyway, I ended up getting an Intimidator. I am not looking back at all. I am still thinking about getting a shocker as a back up marker. Not as my full time marker.

Don't talk like that! You guys are making me wonder if I've jumped outta the fryin pan, and into the burnin kitchen! So let's try and turn this thread around, Tell me why you're glad you did buy your Shockers! I invested because of all the hype around accuracy!

I love my shocker. Its great. Its is great for accuracy and very quiet. And just becasue someone doens't like it...ie Happy Trigger...doesn't mean that they aren't good guns. It just doesn't suit the type of marker that HE is looking for. So have fun with your shocker and don't worry about what everyone else says.

Shockers have the best long range accuracy. But in my opinion it is a pain to play front with it. It is just a tad to big and hard to maneuver. I dont know why they stuck that 16" all american on there. Its too long. Depends on what you want. Do you want a Little gun like a bushy that is light and good for snap shooting with great accuracy? Or do you want a shocker that is a little heavier, it comes with a nice barrel stock(IMO its a tad long) but is great for nailing those little hoppers? thats your choice. Im not dissing the Shocker im just saying that i had a hard time maneuvering and snap shooting with my friends Shocker.
Back: Shocker
Front: Bushy
Heres a pic of my baby. Im getting a 10" Boomer when I get the cash

Like Pyro said, the shocker is a great marker. I really do like the shocker. I like the 2000 model eclipse shocker. I don't like the 2001 model eclipse. Something in the trigger. I like the normal shockers from 99-present. I just thought the intimidator was a better marker for my style of play. I did try the shockers intensively before I made the decision not to get it. I had alot of fun with them. I was seriously looking into one as a backup for the timmy. I still am as a matter of fact.
Ive said this for a long time, but after the 3-man I played yesterday..........I must say it again; Nothing beats the shocker. My gun was "ON" from the first game til the end of the day. Countless eliminations and only shot out once. Not to mention a first place trophy. Ive never been happier with any gun. Even had 4 flag pulls.....(not bad for an overweight back player) Bottom line is...........You never regret buying a shocker.

One thing i dont understand, why did u post a pic of your Bushmaster in here Autococker freak!? If anything we would of wanted to see a shocker. Now, personally I love my Shocker, I am on my second one. My second one is a 2000 tha cost me $1500 in which i could have bought almost any other gun on the market. Yet I stuck with the one I loved. I had shot e-mags, angels, custom cockers, but i still loved my beast of a gun. Right now it is the one i play with at fields and not in the woods because i love it to much and it was a present from my mom so it has sentimental value. I could haul my old shocker in the woods for 7 hours and not be tired. I sould shoot through gaps in boards and trees and nail a person with only an inch to spare. Another thing is, Angels are soooooo overrated. The only reason why people like them is because they are expensive, because they are made in England. My shocker is known as the angel killer because why all the other people are running to try to get in range i a pelting them with paint balls.
Peace all,
Shockyou
