ok first off, how much of a difference in bore size is allowed until the risks of a barrel break greatly increased, i was looking around at UL's and noticed they come in .684 .688 and .692 back bore sizes, i was wondering if you were to use like a .689 or .690 size paint with the .688 barrel, how much greater would the risk of a barrel break or if it were to be a good tight fit.
I know it would be better to go with a larger back barrel for an open bolt marker but for something like a cocker, would you want to use 2 backs or just the medium, for a bit of a tighter fit.
just been a thought that has been bugging me lately:|

secondly, does anyone know the bore size of the new Empire Fuel paintballs, i've yet to try them out (can only purchase good paint online) and don't know what bore size they are? isn't listed in the sticky or anywhere i've been able to find.

There is virtually no risk in breaking a .689 or .690 ball in a .688 barrel. The only paint I would worry about shooting through a .688 is a .692 or .693. Even then you probably won't break balls but the risk is much higher. I would rather have a tight fit than a loose fit. The tighter fit will be more accurate assuming it's not too tight.

A lot of people say to get a large bore barrel because you can shoot any paint with it. However most people do not use large bore paint and your just taking a step down in accuracy using a large bore barrel with smaller bore paint. It won't be a very big difference if you use a .689 ball in a .693 barrel but it won't be as good as a .689 barrel.

Sorry, don't know on the Fuel bore size.

Yeah i was thinking that a tighter fit would be better, but only to an extent, then you start on the verge of barrel breaks.
just asking because im more then likely getting a cocker and im wondering rather to get a UL with a medium bore, then maybe get a bigger bore later on, or get a complete kaner kit for alot more, only problem is, that my store doesnt care any blue kaners, so im leaning towards a nice UL.

If you can, save up some $ and buy a blue Kaner online. It's well worth the price difference considering for the price of the Kaner you can't even get a UL and an additional back.

I was thinking the same thing, since i'll probably be travelling around to play tournys then i would be able to use alot of different paints without any worries.
