This really gets my blood boiling! Guys will spend hundreds on there markers and a tenth of that on their own safety! What is your sight worth? Is saving X number of dollars worth being seriously hurt or even worse blinded? Hey! don't be cheap when it comes to your future vision! Spend the money and get the best you can, and treat your mask with care by reading the warning labels around the care and cleaning of the lens, after all they protect the only two eyes you'll ever have!

What ever you do man, make sure you get thermal lenses.
Paintball is NO fun if you cant see!
I have a nVader, it came with my marker package. When I got it, it fogged bad, as did my glasses. So I got a X-Wind fan, and that stopped my glasses and inside of my lenses from fogging, but the outside and lower half of the insided continued. So I got a thermal lenses. Man do I love my mask now.
The thermal lenses were the best upgrade I made.

There are alot of masks in the $20 range. Theres the scotts, all the other scotts with different brand names on the strap, jt xfire, the pmi which is made by jt, the old BE before they were made by JT that you see at walmart for $5 but still no one buys them, the BE terminator or whatever they call em which are spectras made by JT, vforce, etc.
I hate thermal lenses they scratch too easily. I always get single lenses when I can and put antifog spray. Ive never had a problem with my single lenses and they are cheaper too.

I would save a little money in an account and then go buy a good thermal mask. If don't get a good thermal mask you will probably like the Grassroots say "sooner or later" you will wish you had bought one.
Thanks.
Bad masks or like bad running shoes.

You can get a Shield for 29.99 at 1st shot paintball (www.1stshotpaintball.com)
The Vforce Armor is the best mask for the money IMO. I use them for rentals. The lens is easy to remove , clean, and replace and the anti-fog coating works great until it wears off after a while. When it does, I use a good anti-fog/cleaner like PMI's. The ONLY thing I don't like is that they don't have great neck protection. Also, they come with a visor and mask bag and can be found most places for about $20, sometimes less.

u can get an Nvader at www.countypaintball.com for $23, thats what i bought... waiting for the shipping :o
I have a question for KILLER KAT. If you can buy a $20 mask that meets the safety standards for paintball, what are you paying for if you buy a higher priced mask? Color choice? Brand name? My point is that if it meets the safety standards, one mask is as safe as another IF THE PLAYER KEEPS IT ON! A higher priced mask may give adavantages such as better perefrial vision, or thermal lenses, but these are not really safety issues as such. Use the mask properply and it will protect you. Not even a $1000 mask will protect your eyesight if you don't have it one when you need it.
