View Full Version : Playing in the Cold

About twenty of us played yesterday, it was 13 degrees with about a foot of snow.

Everyone had paint break problems in their barrels, I actually burned through a barrel brush. The so-called cold weather paint that cost twice as much as the reg stuff did do better but I don't know if it was worth the cost. I just kept my paint in front of the fire(field fire place). I brought 5 different kinds of paint and one was ok, one didn't break but was worthlessly inaccurate, and the other three literally broke every other shot.

Using CO2 was almost impossible unless one had an antisyphon and expansion chamber and didn't shoot a lot of cconsecutive balls.

A few high end marks wouldn't work. The Tippmann's wouldn't stop.

Just because it is winter paint, doesn't mean that you can play in the snow with it.

This is why Winter is off-season for paintball:rolleyes:

In winter, youre more likely to have a crappy day. Not saying you cant have good ones, you just get more crappy than good. Jeez, i havent played since november... I need to soon.

Nice cliche, but the snow is on the ground and not in the marker.:blah:

I don't get to play whenever I feel like it so I take advantge of the time I get. Playing in the snow can be fun I had fun yesterday playing with a great group of people. Camraderie and companionship are also a part of paintball too. The paint problem was frustrating but it was them same for everyone else so no one had an advantage.

Personally, I wouldn't like to play in the cold... because I'd get cold. Yesterday, I walked outside for like 10 minutes, and my hands went numb... I hate winter. It's stupid.

I played on Saturday...there was like a foot of snow on the ground, but it wasn't very cold.....except for all the snow in my shoes.....but the paint broke fine on target, and I got my cocker timed, so it was a pretty good paintball weekend. But yeah, winter=paintball's offseason, unless there is Indoor.

I think that winter for paintball is a season where yo can spend money on your girl or on your other girl for upgrades, lol. (girl=marker)

Yeah I actually let my mom shoot me today, and she enjoyed it WAY too much, and all the paint did was bounce off, no breaks. (It is in the teens around here w/ 5 in. on ground)
