well i just got it and i didnt know much about it so when i was done shooting it i went to go twist the tank off the back and when i was trying to take it off co2 was shooting everywhere so i quikly unscrewed it and the o-ring had melted,so i went and put a new o-ring on and screwed the tank back on,i put a few paintballs in and i pulled the trigger and it was acting like a semi-auto,was this because there was hardly any co2 in the tank or a problem with my striker.
please help me!

well..when you take off your Co2 tank, you'll hear gas escape, but tha'ts just the air from the gun escaping. As for your Oring, it didn't melt, it froze. Co2 is a very cold gas because of the reaction that takes place, when Co2 becomes a gas from liquid state. It takes some practice taking off the CO2 tank without ruining your oring, but there's nothing wrong with your gun.

your first mistake was buying a Brass Eagle gun.

stop bashing be..oh your Co2 tank was low. Just get it refilled..that or you were rapid firing, and the tank got really cold and pressure dropped, and the Co2 didnt' have enough psi to recock the gun, so it went full auto..jsut get your tank filled again and you'll be fine.

Ya gotta admit, BE is on the low low low end of the semi market. Like half of their guns are made of nothing but plastic. And the raptor is just a realy bad gun designed to compete with spyders. No offense whodini, I almost bought one to, until i did some reading. I thought that BE was good because thats all you ever saw.

like i sed a million times, BE isn't meant to be High end..it's meant to introduce players to paintball...it's goal isn't to compete with the ANgel..it's to make an affordable gun that will target people who want to play paintball but don't have hte money to buy somehting like a cocker or mag..

I was under the impression it had the same "over/under" design a Spyder or Piranha had, so what's so bad about it?

quality! The quality on a BE is the worst! OMG! They are realy cheap. The accuracy sucks! The feel is realy cheap cuz the grips are like toy guns.

Maybe its becuase im not a Spyder or Spyder clone owner but ive shot a Raptor that had an upgraded barrel on it (dont remember what one, but not an eagleworks) and I honestly couldnt tell a performance difference between it and a Spyder 2000. I also know that the Stingrays can be pretty impressive for a 50 dollar gun with some TLC.
The tigersharks are damn tough little markers that require almost no matainance. I know lots of people that were introduced to the sport by talons and Tigersharks.

Brass eagle is kind of like weed, it is the gateway drug. It gets you started, then you move on to bigger things. I meant that in a good way. I don't use drugs so don't get that idea. BE starts you off and then you get on to bigger and better things. I don't mean bigger literally.

Next thing you know, you're in a back alley, performing certain "services" for an angel... BE is alright in my opinion, they get a bad name because the Blade ,samurai, talon, stingray are kinda poorly made, but a Raptor aint too bad, and a properly working Rainmaker with some aftermarket stuff put on actually feels pretty nice. Not all their stuff is terrible, so I dont think their products deserve as bad a name as they get. The company sucks however, because if you arent gonna back up your products with customer service, then you're not a respectable company IMO. Decent guns, bad company

not to put BE down or any thing but once i tried a raptor w/ eagle works barrel, and it sucked! I had to pray that the shot i was about to take would make it out of the barrel.NO JOKE. and it started shooting high full auto every time i pulled the trigger, except only 1 shot would some out and i would have to rrecock.
I own a raptor, and at times have the same problem with full auto...several things that could be causing it...
Oh, btw... I use a thunder pig 14 in barrel with the turbulence scavenger muzzle break... makes all the diff in the world over the stock barrel.
Now, that full auto is not always caused by a tank that's low on pressure.
1. Check to make sure your cocking knob is in tightly. Being loose can allow the striker to rotate slightly, causing the sear pin not to catch. Same thing happens if you break the connecting pin. (It's happened before to me)
2. Replace o-rings on the striker and valve. Bad orings here can lead to leakage, causing the striker not to be blown back far enough to catch the sear pin, causing full auto.
3. You need a new valve spring. It does wear, and may not be applying enough pressure against the seal.
4. You'll smack yourself if this is the problem...Make sure your grip is tight on the gun, and there is no debris inbetween the grip and the receiver causing extra space between the two. about a milimeter and a half too much space between the two will cause the sear pin not to catch. I'd reccommend using a little thread locker on the screws.
Hope this all helps.
I use my raptor from time to time, when not using my 2001 Bruizer Outlaw, or when I have a death wish and play speedball with Akimbo PT Extremes, Chrome of course. :)
Also... if you let it go full auto for more than a second, you probably damaged your sear pin and striker... get new ones.
A new striker costs $6 and a new sear pin costs $1.25
even after changing all the things above... if you don't replace these parts, you'll still get the same problem, and just end up causing more damage...
