View Full Version : Need Help Deciding
ok, I really didnt know where to post this...
I have one sucky gun, and I am probably gonna get a new gun, I was either gonna get an classic 68 automag or a Tippmann A5 with a RT and a Flatline Barrel. Now that maybe a stupid question, but I am definately probably gonna buy the A-5 over the Automag, but my friend keeps on telling me to go with the automag...(not interested in tournaments so the RT doesnt bother me)

Automag.
why...I would think the A5 is soo much better with a Flatline and RT I also dont play at fields, I play woods 80% of time

68 mags are alright, but im sure there are waay better used mags out there that come with lots of good upgrades
I find that the a5, should be way more accurate with the Flatline, and the Rate of Fire is real Nice

Flatline + RT isnt that good of a combo, I found that when shooting fast my Flatline would break balls...
Just give me some reasons why...I mean, I've head the Flatline Barrel is Dead on Accurate, with its extra 100ft...I heard the Automag is decently accurate.

The flatline is WAYYYY overrated... Its just not that good. Period. Your much better off spending 400 on a used mag with tons of upgrades that 400 on an A5.
my A-5 will cost 420 Dollars. and I've seen the Flatline, it owns.

yes but with the flatline you HAVE to use good paint or else it turns into one hell of a blender, and how fun is it to squegee out that beast of a barrel.
automags have very little kick and with level 10 you wont chop and with a good barrel, just buy a large bored barrel and use whatever paint.

I've seen many a horrowshow with flatlines, balls breaking and a hell of a time cleaning them. I've heard many say they are fine... though I'm doubtfull. Flatlines are also highley inconsistant when it comes to their "accuracy". The automag should shoot consistantley strait, the flatline is gonna be weird.
I know many people with A5's and never complain, and dont know anybody with an Automag.

Mag>A-5
Sure the A-5 will shoot further, but better accuracy that debatable. If you get the new valve (RT Valve I think) it is the fastest recharging valve available, which makes the mag more consitant. Better consistancy helps with accuracy, also if you get a freak kit (or other barrel kit which you'll only have to play slightly more for than a flatline) and that will definatly improve accruace seeing as accuracy really depends on ball bore match. If you get the flatline though you can't match it up. I'm pretty sure you can get an RT kit for a mag (may be wrong), plus getting a level Ten bolt will make chopping almost impossible.
Mag
-Smaller
-lighter
-Better consistacy
Mag w/ Level ten bolt and Freak kit
-better accuracy
-less chopping

Flatline sucks. Its that simple. For 420 you can get many a non-crap gun, rather then spending 420 on the worst excuse for a barrel ever.
If your just going to defend a flatline the whole time, and not go with the majority (the wise ones) buy a flatline and find out for yourself.
BTW, good luck with the flatline, youll need it.
hey, I'm not trying to defend it, its just what I heard, and seen.

Dont ask for advice if you wont take any. Do what ever the hell you want, but when you find your setup sucks, too bad.
so where I can find this RT Valve
I hope your not talking about the AGD RT Retro Valve

Lots of places, pbgear.com, or airgun.com.
I also dont have Nitrogen, nor the money to afford it as of now if I purchase Either gun, I hear that its like impossible to use the Automag if u have Co2.True?
Also, if your talking about the AGD RT Retro Valve I dont have the money for that either, 250 for a valve.

I have a small feeling you are getting advice from real world idiots. You think flatline is good and an automag can't fun on Co2......
Ok thanks its been great....
Try reading some of the reviews on the automag ., just some of the things I picked up on it, I know it can run on Co2, but I hear it doesnt run good with it, damn I have to write everything ing perfect
alright, forget the Automag and A5 what would also be a good gun for under 500 dollars. Is the MiniMag Pretty good, sometimes the reviews just cant say enough.

You got 500 to spend buy a 2k3 VF Autococker and a crossfire high output 68ci 4500psi tank.

A stock Impulse is $425 and can run on Co2.

It would still rawk an A-5 all to hell.
A trigger is the only main thing, though a bolt and lpr are quite helpfull too.
