barrel accuracy is governed more by the type of paint you use. shoot the right paint through the barrel, and oh my god! accuracy!
I disagree with detention489, The AA is a hella lot quieter then the J&J!!! trust me.

I agree, SP puts lots of swirl porting on their barrels.. the AA is quieter. Accuracy would be about the same under same conditions. JJ cleans easier.

I'm in the process of looking for a good replacement and I have considered both of these barrels. But everyone seems to say the J&J is only slightly inferrior to the AA Smart Parts, but how do you compare barrels that are so different in price. The J&J is only around 50-60 while you should expect to spend 80-90 for the AA. True, it's not a big money difference, but if you are a rec player, like myself, you might be trying to save as much money as possible, even if it is 20 or 30 dollars. Anyway, I can understand that you might be considering both barrels, but with companies that have reputations like J&J and AA, you know you will get what you pay for...they don't make crap. SO, if you pay more for the AA, you should expect to get more. IF the J&J was AS GOOD AS the AA, then the price would be the same. I'm sure some people will disagree with me on this statement, but I'm merely speaking from experience and my OPINION. What I say is not fact.
In conclusion, both of these companies make great, dependable barrels but it boils down to you get what you pay for (which is a good thing these days, seems like a lot of stuff is crap.) Want to spend a little more and get a barrel that will shoot a little farther, maybe a little more accurate, and a little quieter, or the more economic player can go with the J&J, save some money and get a still wonderful barrel but sacraffice some quality COMPARED to the AA, however, we still go back to the fact that it is cheaper. ALL IN ALL, MAKE SURE YOU GET PAINT THAT FITS THE BARREL WELL, AND YOU'LL BE HAPPY EITHER WAY.

I'm right with you sam...I believe the lapco stainless barrels (bigshot and autospirit) whip on the dye barrels such as the ever so popular bommy costing 2 x more. Lapco have probably the finest made barrels in production as of now and even dye can't top them. I can't wait to get one so I can stop loaning ones from people at the field!
