This is actually more than one question. Why do manufacturers make their stock barrles suck, Why don't they just make a quality barrel?

And what is it about the stock barrels that make them suck? Why do they give you less accuracy?

Stock barrels suck because the companies realize that no matter how good of a barrel they ship the gun with, people are going to replace it anyway.
The reason they may not have great accuracy is because most stock barrels may not be perfectly straight through all the way through the barrel. It may look straight, but by the muzzle end it may be off by a half a milimeter or so. (A good barrel will be perfectly straigh its entire length.)

Anyway, i got many responses from experts on the subject, so i encourage you to check out that thread.

Anyway, the main reason is this:

Companies know that players want the BEST.. and best means aftermarket products. So they do not take the time to polish and doublecheck, check, and recheck the measurements.

They aren't as accruate not only because of the measurements, but also the manufactors dont take the time to polish the inside and bore throughly as aftermarket companies do.

Obviously no manufacturer is going to give you a boomstick stock but they could at least give you a mid grade barrel like a J&J or lapco big shot or something else in that category. Both those barrels are VERY nice and not even that expensive. If manufacturers expect people to go buy an aftermarket barrel they should just stop making stock barrels. That way they would save money and could charge less for the markers saving us the money. But in my opinion manufacturers should make a good stock barrel or no barrel.
