Thinkin about getting a Spyder 2000 Compact instead of a Rebel Are there any issues about the gun I should know about? How fast can they shoot (BPS) stock? Does the sight rail actually work with a scope (not being able to see because of the hopper or elbow)? Is the gun a good buy? Are PROBALL balls good for the gun? About how many shots should I get from a 20oz tank? Does it balance good with a 20oz on a vertical setup? Should it be able to work on a standard 200rd gravity feeder if i shake it up every while? How accurate is the gun? Are there instructions? Does it tell how to dissassemble and maintain the gun? Thanks!

Geez. I feel like I've just been interrogated. First off, as far as accuracy is concerned, it's only as accurate as your barrel. And your barrel is only as accurate as the paint that fits in it. So if you have a .690 bore and you're shooting .682 bore paint, your accuracy is gonna suck. Next, yes, the gun comes with instructions. Diagram, and other stuff. At least, my Shutter did. Next, you can't use a scope over that damn powerfeed. Tried on my Shutter. Didn't work. A red-dot sight though is much better and it does go over the feed. Anything like the Brass Eagle one you see in Wal-Mart for $13 is good. As for a 20 oz tank, don't get a 20. Get a 16. much smaller and lighter. Although if you want something to brace against your shoulde, go with a 12 or 14. They're even lighter and make great stocks. Concerning dissassembly, Spyders are among the most simple guns ever built. Take it apart once and put it back togeterh according to the diagram and you'll be golden. It's really VERY simple. The only parts you should ever need to dissassemble are the bolt and hammer, and that's to lube and clean them. Eventually you'll know the gun so well that if the valve or something needs to be checked, you'll have no fear of doing it. Everything in the Spyder is very simple. As for the 20 oz balance, no, it will suck, especially without a foregrip. BPS stock, they'll shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger. May want to invest in a 9v revy. I know it made a HUGE difference on my Shutter. As for the good buy, the best buy is really to shell out the extra money and get a TLPlus or a Shutter, like I have. People say the Shutter parts suck cuz they're stock, well, I've had no problems with them. They do what they're designed to do. Oh, and as for Proball, I think it'll fit your stock barrel fine, anything but Brass Eagle paint you should be able to run through the gun no problem. Personally, I'd go with a TLPLus or Shutter. They're just as simple.

1. No
2. As fast as your fingers can move :)
3. Yes
4. In my opinion, yes
5. How can it be bad...? :|
6. About 1000, maybe more. Been a long time since I've used CO2...
7. Kinda leans forward a bit, but it's not bad at all
8. Yes
9. Not very stock...
10. What sort of instructions do you need? I'm sure we can help :)
11. I think, it may, but I dunno... Lost my instructions, but I know how to maintain, dissassemble, and clean my gun. :D

A couple things of interest:

1) Don't buy a scope, don't use a scope, don't think scope...lol... Learn to sight down the side of the gun or in another similar way! Don't look like an *** at the field.

2) Compact2k is a great first gun. You can add the parts you want instead of getting a shutter and then having to upgrade the already "upgraded" parts.

3) 9v revvy is a great idea and you'll need one eventually...just pop for the 12 right away. You can get one for $40 if you look around on the net (I forget where but if you find it let me know...lol). Their typically only like $5-15 more than a 9v.

4) As said above accuracy is only as good as your barrel and barrel/paint match. Good cheep barrels are CP, J&J ceramic, and Lapco Aluminum Bigshot. The gun wont be increadably accurate stock...dont expect it to. Add a new barrel and you have a whole different marker

5) I own a 20oz aluminum co2. Their big...and pretty heavy. Would suggest only using them back bottle with a drop forward or remote (but I wouldn't suggest that at all so thats a mute point). Look into the 16oz stubs they are pretty nice unless you MUST have the 20oz capacity.

6) Your fingers wont outshoot the gun...trust me....;)

7) Proball is a good paint and should shoot very well

8) Anybody can figure out how to maintain a spyder...hey...I did and thats saying a lot. ;) They come with plenty of instructions!

9) Second upgrade for that gun IMHO would be either a reg (WGP used or Palmer Stab), or Drop forward if using the 20oz, maybe sticky grips.

When I had C02 I used this tank: http://www.actionvillage.com/030-0160.html It is a great size and feels decent against your shoulder. Especially compared to a normal 20z.

don't use pro ball...... Get zap profomance plus much better. Pro balls bounce off people and trees. it comes with instructions. as fast as your fingers move. Get a 16 oz tank.short and stuby. Don't buy a scope it's of no use. just shoot adjust and shot again.after awhile you'll be able to just point and shoot the target where you want.(right between the eyes) GET A C2K if it's your first gun it's very good. It'll work with a ragular hopper. Acuracy if in the barrel and maybe even the bolt (just a little in the bolt). A good barrel is the TERMINATOR by 32 degree.even better with zap pp's. they come with instructions
