First of all, yes i am a newbie...
And... I have a few questions...
-What is the difference between vertical feed and power feed?
- What is field stripping?

I am also getting a Piranha STS Core...and I think I has a thing where you cock the thing on the back (grey metal thing on the end of the gun). And it requires Co2 and everything...so I was just wondering if i would have to cock it with Co2..? I dont know thanx for reading this because I am a really confused paintball newbie.

:D.-~='JoE'=~-.:D

Vert feed is verticle, up and down on your gun, it doesnt need a elbow. Power feed goes diagnol across the gun and requires a elbow.
Field stripping is taking apart the gun usually to clean it.

vert feed does need an elbow (just strait) it also feeds balls faster field stripping is taking the bolt and striker out of ur gum;)

To load co2, first cock the marker, then screw in the tank.

What difference does it make if I cock the gun then load co2 or load co2 and then cock?

it is "SUPPOSED" to be bad for the cup seal to cock with co2 on the gun:rolleyes:

No it doesnt.... at least mines doesnt (jt 4)... I have a friend with an xtra (vertical feed) and he doesnt need any extra attatchment, or "Straight elbow"..... yours must be weird..

The Xtra and the EM1 are the only markers out that need the straight elbow. The elbow makes the feed like a highrise instead of a normal vertical feed lowrise. You can put a normal 200rd VL hopped over the vertical feed so you don't need an elbow but I chopped 2 paintballs like that so I switched back to the elbow and haven't chopped since.

so a tippmann custom 98 with loading not on top of the gun, but one that doesnt need an elbow would technically be called?

Im not argueing with u... yes maybe you use the elbow on your spyder xtra, and maybe it came with one... my friend has a spyder xtra and he doesnt use an elbow and it works... i own a jt 4.0 and it did not come with an elbow, and it works fine without it.

so read my post before you start flaming me :pissed:

Paintball fields are infamous for their attrativeness for stinging insects. Many newbies do not know that they should tie shoe strings around the openings of their sleeves and pants. When an insect flies into these openings on an unsuspecting newbie he then comences to field strip. I'll just leave that to your immagination.
