hey, i was thinking about getting a 2001 vert cocker, buti have differant needs than some. First, i want a cocker that is smooth above all else, some trigger, smooth action, easily timed. Accuracy i'm not going to freak about, just slap on an AA or boomstick. So my q is, what mods allow for the smoothest, fastest opertationin cockers? rember, accuracy can but compromised, i thinki'll go for ans pneumatics, j/k, that ones for you counterfeit

well, a smooth trigger starts off with a good 45 frame, i recommend a dye or benchmark. I Highly recomend the p&p customized benchmarks. THey haves just so much to offer in those frames that will contribute to a good trigger pull. Next you want to work on springs, then get a polished sear/trigger plate. After that, time the gun well and you will have a great trgger pull.
As for accuracy. It is mostly from the breech forward. The stock bolt is actually a great design, or u could put in a nice free flow bolt or something. Then comes the barrel- your choice- i recommend the boomer. All the other things in a cocker have to do with consistancy and opperation, unless you venture into the world of low pressure, and thats another "story" for another time :-)

that another thing, a good short 4 way will help shorten the trigger pull, i strongly recommend the KAPP pro series actuator rod, it does wonders to a long pull.

IVe been told the Roller Sear makes for a VERY smooth trigger pull

I doubt it really matters that much. ITs up to you if you want to spend the extra hundred, mines a standard and its fast enough for me :)

After a ong time of searching for the best trigger heres what Ive found to be the best- bomb 3-way, aka trigger plate modified to a "hole" plate, roller sear, P&P frame(old style), g-force trigger stop. This set up has given me a super smooth and short pull. Going low pressure will also help you get a softer trigger pull if you do it right. Or go super high pressure a change out the hammer spring, either one will give you a lighter pull.
