real paintball shotgun

me and my friend took a small peice of seran wrap and pushed it down a barrel with a dowel rod, then dropped hacki-sack pellet peices down it . then we put the tank in and fired it outside. it made an impressive 10x10in group at about 10 feet
i dont know what it could be used for, but atleast it's neat

i just wonder what those 40mm paintball bb's would do inside of it instead of pellets
?????

Try it, That seems kind of useful at scenerios where all the noobs are looking out the same window

I tried something like that once...I worked decently, but the velocity isn't the best, and you would have to manually reload every time.:|

i don't think the 40 (cal. not mm as far as i know) paintball would work too well because you couldn't get enough of them in the chamber... what i would think would work well, would be some of the 6 mm paintballs that i believe they make for airsoft guns, but i'm not sure, i would think the way to do it would be to build something you could get cheap like a talon into a paint ball shotgun, i would think the best way would be to cut out the loading port to a rectangular area so that you can put in cylindrical packages of paintballs that are incased in a type of wad that would peel away as fired, so that they would get a good seal, but would be held together........ anyway, there are a couple ideas that might help, or not, but........

Ya, I got mixed up between .40 and 6mm paintballs...I used 6mm. Hmmm...a friend just gave me a Talon, too! I might try that.

i have a GREAT idea for someone to try. this is it. you get a pvc pipe. about the with just enough for a tiolet paper roll to fit in(an empty roll).you basically make a patato gun. the only mod to this is you power it by pin valve co2 tanks. you then make a rectangular hole in the bottom of the pipe. you make a magazine for it as big as a toilet paper roll. you get an empty paper roll for the shotgun shell. you tape a piece of tiolet paper to cover each end of it,stuffing the inside of the roll with paintball bbs. then you spring- load the magazine. you put muliple shot-gun shells in the magazine. then you shoot. the bbs will be blown out, leaving the roll behind. you will have to make some kind of detent for the roll so it doesnt blow out with the bbs. then you would have to make some kind of pump action to recock the gun so another shell could enter the gun. i know how to do all of this but i dont have the funds. i wish i could fax my ideas or something to someone with like blue prints of it. sorry if you didnt understand a word of this.i actually have a pic very similar to my idea. but wait, i cant post it. i dont know how. ill email it to someone who does though and they can put it up for me!

actually, just cut the front of the roll into strips and make a cover for the back, and let it go out with the paintballs, when it exits the barrel, the strips would peel back and the roll would seperate from the paintballs, i would think this method would work better because you would have a better seal down the barrel so it would be more efficient.... (this is why in real shotguns, they have wads, that work on the same principle.......), even if you don't do it this way, you probably should have some kind of maybe circular felt piece or something like that so that the propellent doesn't blow past the paint..........

You know what it would be easier to do? They make shells for a shotgun w/ I think 6mm paintballs in it. It would be easier to find those, but much more expensive.

me and my friends made one and it used 1 12 gram co2 per shot a little pricey but it used about 30 .68 cal paintballs and it was made out of metal piping we bought at homehardware an we attached a quickchanger to the back and left 6 inches for a expansion chamber for the 12 grams pressure to be released to. the there was a quick release valve and you would turn it real quick to shoot. then there was a 1 1/2 inch in diameter barrel that was a foot long. and i tell you was that sucker ever a beast it was so loud and when it went off at you all you could do is get ready to scream cause you couldnt dodge it and it hurt like a mother.

My friend uses a Talon as a shotgun sometimes when we play airsoft. He just pops a few paintballs in the breach, and drops airsoft BB's in. It's not very accurate, but when he shoots theres a wild spray of pellets, just like a real shotgun. Serran wrap would probably be a much better alternative to sticky paintballs. I tried cutting open paintballs and filling them with Airsoft BB's, but the shells ended up getting weak and mishapened, and the BB's never stack properly.

I've been reading this post and i realize that its a decent amount of time old, though i just got an idea. How bout you take something cheap, like a talon as said before and just have a modified striker in the gun. If you open up the gun and maked like a a cup at the end so when you pump back and the ball normaly falls into place you have something holding the little 6mms then when you close it, it cuts of more bbs entering and you have it so that when it closes the end of the striker rolls down and faces out the barrel. This might be hard to explain but this is what my idea is. Take one of those little small metal bb things that you could place on the top of you end piece on the modified striker so that when you pull it back and forth it rolls into place as either up or down. I think for this part you might need to cut open a hole in the top of the barrel so you have room for like a 2mm bb or something cover it. Its hard to explain but if you read this it should work cuz once it rolls into the feed chamber it feeds in just enough bbs so that it doesn't over do itself. Then when you pull it up and close the chamber it faces it out and when you pull the trigger it propels the small bbs. And the great thing about this idea is you could just use a normal hopper of small bbs:) that way you don't have to worry about them all falling down through the barrel. Maybe ill make a little flash video later to show you how to do it. Or I might do this to my friends talon with him as a kool mod. Though i suggest when you try and run your prototype you don't shoot at anybody so nothing accidently flys out. Such as the custom bolt mod. And punctures there skin lol. It may sound funny but when you take down your friend with a medal piece and the family issuse a law suit that won't be kool Just be careful and have fun.

you should make a little cartrage that you could push down the barrel and it would be faster to reload. Also, you could take those pellets you were talking about and cover them with paint?

i guess this isnt really a shotgun but...heres the cheap way: Take a couple of paintballs and drop them into the barrel.(you might have to push them down with a squeege) Since theres Two paintballs in the barrel and one in the chamber thing you'll fire three shots.

or take a cheap pump like a talon and get it so you can pump like 5 in the barrel at once then just turn up the velocity
