We are playing in the woods behind my house. This guy is my former team captian. We decided on getting a chrono, everyone who is playing (7 people) are giving me 10 bucks for a chrono and im paying the rest (30 dollars) so i will keep it at my house. This kid is soo dumb, but he's been playing longer than me. He is currently playing with his thermal 2nd lense cracked. Im telling him its not safe. Now he wont pay up 10 dollars for when i go get the chrono tomorrow... I dunno what i can do about it. Maybe i can convince him...What should i do?

Knux68: 10 dollars..tomorrow
Knux68: joe allready donated his
Jesters Karma: why are we paying for your chrono?
Knux68: we paying for OUR crono
Jesters Karma: oh its 'our" chrono....which we don't need, and which will remain presideing at davids house
Knux68: it will reamain at my house cuz i pay 30+ dollars for it, and you pay ten
Knux68: and yes we need it
Knux68: its all about safety
Jesters Karma: for what
Jesters Karma: we don't need a chrono
Knux68: yes we do..
Knux68: if we play in the woods
Knux68: which we are..
Knux68: we should know our velocitys
Jesters Karma: what for
Knux68: so we dont shoot hot
Knux68: and break lenses
Knux68: and fingers
Jesters Karma: we alrdy know joes way over...which doesn't matter cuz he couldn;'t hit thr broad side of his ***
Knux68: so, we'll turn him down... Man your baised
Jesters Karma: u have to be shooting damn fast to cracj lenses or break fingers
Jesters Karma: damn fast
Knux68: 320 can do both
Jesters Karma: HA
Knux68: c02 plus cold weather = velocity spikes
Jesters Karma: if your goggles are gonna break at 320 u got ripped
Knux68: dude you have a cracked lense
Jesters Karma: its still gonna take fps of like 6-7 hundred to crack a lens
Knux68: no its not...
Jesters Karma: and no velocity spike will do that
Knux68: why is yours cracked
Jesters Karma: because i let it sit with paint in it for like four months
Knux68: 320 has broken lenses and shattered hoppers
Jesters Karma: i've been shot in the fingers b4 from like 40 ft
Knux68: 40ft is far.
Jesters Karma: what are they shooting iron balls
Jesters Karma: u want a chrono gfine, but i'm not pitching in 4 it
Knux68: yes you are
Knux68: atleast 5 dollars
Knux68: cheap piece of crap
Jesters Karma: hell no i';m not
Knux68: then your not playing friday
Jesters Karma: i can tell when my velocity is up to high
Knux68: if you not getting chronoed your not playing
Knux68: daah
Jesters Karma: your a wimp
Jesters Karma: i stood up to joes ray from 10 ft
Knux68: dude..
Knux68: lets take your hopper
Knux68: chrono something at 320
Knux68: and shoot it
Jesters Karma: you couldn't do any damage less your shooting like 400
Jesters Karma: and it would still have to be really close
Knux68: no i bet i could SHATTER it
Jesters Karma: your on
Knux68: alright...
Jesters Karma: i know no paintball is gonna shatter a solid plastic hopper
Knux68: if i lose... You dont pay me for the hopper
Knux68: dah
Knux68: chrono
Knux68: if i win
Jesters Karma: i'm not paying u for the chrono either way
Knux68: you pay 10 bucks
Knux68: if you lose
Jesters Karma: i'm telling u dude...tag wouldn't let u play at 310 if u could break a hopper with it
Jesters Karma: and 310 is tags velocity limit
Knux68: THATS WHY THEY CHRONO AT 260!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Knux68: dude 300 is the INTERNATIONAL speed limit
Jesters Karma: there is no speed limit
Jesters Karma: theres no laws on it
Jesters Karma: 310 is tags velocity limit
Knux68: Dude..... your wrong too much,
Jesters Karma: i bet u 10 bucks that u can't shatter my hopper from 10 ft at 320
Knux68: ok

Im so gonna win.

I'm glad to see you're pushing safety on your field. I just wrote an article about "outlaw" fields and the safety requirements. Here's a link: http://www.countypaintball.com/newsletter_1001.asp

Good luck getting the rest of the money up for your chrono. I agree that it's important to know your velocity and keep it safe.

lol! dude, I blew the HELL out of a hopper when I was 280 about 5 feet away.. it was funny as hell I bunkred him and shot his hopper and the thing just broke in half and most of his paint spilled out. Oh yeah and dont let that kid play if he doesnt pay for the chrono no matter what, I got this scar on my leg from getting nailed like 7 feet away when a guy was accidentally hot like 320.. it was the refs fault but they were cool about it I got 500 free paintballs out of it :P hey I dont have any problem with taking hush money

You don't have to believe me. It WAS VERY high.

A chrono is so important. At our field 290 is recommended, but you can shoot 300. If it is 305 or something I don't mind but much higher it begins to bug me and I won't play.

Knux-you better win and show that kid what's up.

One friend of mine shot a hole in my old VL200 from 50-60ft. I was like "what the hell?". His gun must have been really hot or else a good sized velocity spike.

We have the same problem... We go play in the woods also, and I know for a fact that my friends shoot hot. They try and crank up the velocity just below the point when the paintballs swerving. I think it's so dangerous. We want to get the small hand held chrony. But it's really hard deciding how to split up the cost. We could do what you did and have one person pay more and that person gets to keep it at their house, but then people would everyone would want to pay that extra amount so they can keep it.

I've come up with a "partial" solution. My idea is that the owner of the marker gets shot with their own marker at close range before the game. E.g. 3 shots to the back at 10 feet. This way that person will not be tempted to turn up the velocity of their marker. The only problem is that it's going to hurt like crazy to get shot like that even under 300 fps.

What do you guys think of my idea?

10 feet is aittle harsh, i've had my back lit up at that, it almost made me cry, lol, i would try like 15 or something like that
