If they have cool relatives and get cool stuff more power to them. If you really think 1000 is a lot of money, maybe paintball isn't for you...

It is a little frustrating to work, trade, whatever to raise money for your marker, and then some kid decides he wants to play too and is just handed something better without lifting a finger.
But look on the bright side. If he quits, you could get his angel off him for pretty cheap if not free. Spoiled kids have a very distorted perception of value.

If anyone comes across a rich kid quitting paintball & owns any type of cocker, let me know :D.

I just think it looks silly if your a n00b and you have top of the line stuff!
For instance I'm a biker as in crotch rocket cops chasin me bad boy biker with matching leathers and all that jazz...
And whenever a n00b shows up on some hot new flashy killer bike we can tell and we laugh and laugh cause we see he can't ride...
Hes just lookin to get himself hurt or in a whole lotta trouble...
Same deal goes for paintball, just makes you look silly sitting in the dead zone all the time with your $1000 gun and expensive set up!

I find it alright if they get a better gun. It's not our fault were poor. lol. Although, yes if you are new you should start with a gun that was more of a basic internal type of design.

Complaining does no good, you just have to get over it.

I don't know if I would want someone to just hand me an angel, because if I had one, there would be absolutely no excuse for losing.

Everyone has heard this before. It's not the gun, it's the player so if you suck (not saying that you do) and have an angel well there you go. An excuse for losing. You suck.:P

Anyway, I don't really care if a newb has a great gun, if he wants to get good at the sport he will probably upgrade to an nice gun sooner or later...

Yeah, it's kind of annoying when you see some rich 12 year old noob walking around the field with an Angel. But it's fun when you own them and all their expensive gear with your $115 Spyder.;)

Look on the bright side....he has an expensive marker, but once he gets out on the field he'll get owned. And he will get laughed at.

I see alot of these post around, what is wrong with a kid gettin a top of the line marker for his first. I dont see a problem with it, if he/parents can afford it then more power to him. I think most of you are just jealous and cant stand somebody that is n00b to have a better or same caliber marker you have. Most of us start off with the spyder type markers and upgrade until we get better at our games or like in my case will wait till I hit the tourney scene(which I think will be soon....bah need more money for a new gat!). I can maybe understand the point of view from the biker guy cuz seriously you can kill yourself on one of those. But what does it hurt to start off you paintball "career" with a top of the line marker?
Man Im waiting to become friends with a n00b that buys a nice Matrix then quits.....Ill offer him like $200 and a can of Spam and he'd take it

I think the thing that irriatates me the most isn't the fact they have an expensive gun, it's that they're unappreciative of it and its value.....that's what gets me. if a newb walks up and absolutley cherishes his new Matrix because he knows Mom probably pulled it out of Grandma's funeral money, then yeah, that's one thing, but when they throw it on the ground or blame their suckiness on the gun, that just irks me. Someone was nice enough to buy you a $1000 present, yeah, we're all jealous, but at least take care of it.

:pissed: everyone gets a little pissed when some newbie gets a bad gun handed to them by their parents or relatives. but you know what a newbie doesnt know how to play the game and is gonna make stupid mistakes so it doesnt matter if he can shoot 15-20 bps because you can probally whack him in the goggles with in the first 30 seconds of the game. the gun doesnt make the player the player makes the gun. you can have the most bad gun but if you cant play it doesnt make a difference. so when you see a newbie with a hotrod just laugh it off because he'll be off the field faster then a dress on prom night

boys boys, that's the way life is. People with more money than you buy cooler things but they also die quicker. Amen.

Who cares, just buy the guns later when they "crap out" IE the batteries die.
Rich people may die sooner but they'll die happy, money can buy lots of nice things and women if needed.
