Crappy Paintball Imitation!

I just saw a commercial on TV for a thing called Energy Paintball. What it is is a water gun-like toy that shoots small globs of colored goo. As I was watching it, I thougt to myself, wow this looks pretty stupid. The guns they were toting looked so corney and stupid with their bright colors and clumsy attempts to look like real weapons, all of which is probably made out of cheap plastic. It made me laugh actually. But then at the end of the commercial they called it "Energy paintball!" And then I became offended. How dare they! Trying to promote their imposter product as paintball. Bah! That makes me sick. Soon they'll be little kids running around saying "oh I play paintball" like it's no big deal, rather than with the touch of pride that each true paintball player has for his/her sport. and soon these cheap little crummy guns will be everywhere! I say we fight this!

We have something the same in the UK - its called X-Fire. Really cheesy programme, they have Infernos (i think) with loads of plastic **** put on them and they then call them "emulsifiers"! Someone is shot they have to do a cheesy death scene and lie on the floor.

Also the hoppers on the gun are square!! How do they feed!

That's so stupid. It should be called "Wannabe Paintball". I say if you see anyone playing that you should break out your marker and ask if you can play. :D

I saw one at target called XTREME PAINTBALL ADVENTURE SET, which included 2 guns, both looking like AK47 with clips on the top, you pour SPECIAL paint down the clip, and fire away. It squirts a load of paint, GIVING U REAL PAINTBALL ACTION, be funny to walk on a field with that 10 feet shooting sucker.

Haha...ok well i work at toys r us and we sell those things. 2 guns and ammo for 40bucks. However, if you think about it people that are going to buy them aren't gonna be older kids like us that can play paintball. We've sold 3 in the past week and it was to little kids like under 9. So maybe in a couple of years the kids will save up enough money and be interested enough to try our great sport?

well my fear with this stupid NRG (energy) Paintball crap, is that someone is gonna buy a talon or blade or crappy gun of that nature and go play with his friends who all have the NRG stuff and shoot them in the face with their lame googles on. So people might get hurt that way, which gives paintball a bad rap...

These NRG guns are just like those GOOP guns they had a few years back... those plastic guns that basically sling snot... oh joy.

I hope I am wrong, I hope that kids using these NRG guns will learn about wearing their googles with them... and perhaps get safety in mind if they ever move up to a "real" paintball gun.

That's what I thought too. The glasses they're wearing saftey glasses or swimming goggles(lenses) t's kinda dumb but I'm sure someone enjoys them

Just 5 mins ago I was channel hopping and caught the very end of some advert for "Virtual Paintball", all I saw was something that looked like a laser-tag setup with those chest sensor type things, and some "x-treme" voice go "Virtual Paintball!!!!" :rolleyes:

First thing that went into my mind was "Oh no! It's over here too!", and then my sister pointed at me and laughed. :pissed:

Anyway, I'll keep an eye out and post back with more info when I can (I have no idea what thsi thing is, just that it calls itsel paintball).

Lol...at least he has the right idea about brass eagle stuff. :) That's kinda bad though, he might play with someone who HAS brass eagle stuff and get his eye shot out. :paranoid:
