here is another link to it. http://www.actionvillage.com/012-6170-8.html still 75 so i guess that is the going rate. for some reason i thought they were like 60 some

You shouldn't. The AA offers no advantages over a low end barrel like a CP1 or Ceramic except you can change the length. Waste of money, IMO.

is there any signifacant difference between the 1 and 2 pice AA?

No.

Read the stickies and do a search. They will answer your questions and help your decision.

You seem to be quite the SP lover. It's not a bad barrel but like Teuf said you can get a cheaper barrel that will perform the same.

yes i do happen to like smart parts alot. i plan on getting a new gun (03 shocker). maybe you can but i would prefer to get a all american over a cheaper barrel. its all opinion i guess but i would rather pay the extra money for a company i really like and trust.

I wouldn't trust SP to turn out too much in the way of quality barrels above the TD/Prog line (and the new SS Freak inserts). Everything else has crappy quality control, especially the aluminum inserts. The AA is a chopped Progressive that you pay an extra $35 for. Hell of a deal.

congradulations (< did i spell that right, i dont think so but maybe). anyways my freak kit with the aluminum inserts works very very well. woudnt trade it for anything (except the ss freak kit because it looks nicer and lasts longer (fthe last longer is from what i have been told). But the quality is deffinatly there on the freak and all american. My impulse came stock with the progressive barrel. The first new barrel i slapped on, my friends all american, worked really well. I almost bought one but decided on buying a freak. You may not see it that way but i do.

And why do you have something against everything I do? you and penny..

Because you piss me off.

I don't like the All American because it costs twice as good as it shoots. You could almost get a UL for the price of an AA.

ImpulseKid366

all american is slightly less (hardly any) quality difference then the ultralite and like 10 bucks cheaper. so slight you wont notice a difference. save that ten bucks and use it to buy field admission or air.

ImpulseKid366

I own a ultralite barrel, i do like it but i would trade it in for the all american if i had a chance

As someone who's more than likely put more paint through each of those barrels than you've probably shot all together, I'm going to stick with the UL.

ha i bet.

Teuf not only knows what he's talking about but he wrote the barrel guide which everyone seems to approve. As for my own experience, I have found SP barrels to be decent but nothing out of the ordinary. Personally I like the AA but the same can be accomplished with a CP or dish out $10 more for a UL. Dye > SP

2 piece All Americans deffinatly suck, there deffinatly a huge waste of money. Why would you want to spend double the price over a Progressive or Teardrop to get no performance advantage at all. And if its for a longer length, why not get a Cp barrel?

Cp's deffinatly rock AAs for the price, choose the bore size, choose the color, and 1 piece barrels deffinatly > 2 piece. So much less to go wrong. I've seen the threads on 2 piece sp barrels screw up far too often, leading to countless barrel breaks and in the end a basic broken barrel unless you replace the front and or back.

And whoever was saying an All American is just as good as an Ultralite...... wow. Thats all I can even say about that.

Kingman27

I would have taken a UL over it..But I would of needed a .690 back instead of the regular 688 ul..And I really like chrome/black barrels,so I would have got a chrome back..now it comes out to 100 bucks..I payed 75.I know I could have got a CP2Piece,I even was going to,but I changed my mind..:)

cocker kid 2k2

Yeah, but the All American doesn't have a chrome back, and isn't .690, and you don't even have those options.

Kingman27
02-05-2004, 06:11 PM
I know..I didn't want to spend 100 bucks though..This has a chrome back and the bore happens to be perfect..688 would have been to small though..I am happy with it and thats what matters..Alrightythen?:)

Out of all the barrels I've shot I think I was most impressed with my All American. My vote is for the AA.

it seems that no one can decide whether the all american or ultralight is better, but can you all agree that they're about the same quality? disregard the price of course

CoolT

If you search you will find that 95% of the people say the UL is better.

coolIT what's your proble, can't someone just ask a question, if the search is all that why would there be a forum where you can talk. there would only be a database

CoolT
02-09-2004, 11:49 AM
I didn't mean that you should search. I'm just saying that 95% of all people will say UL if you actually went through and counted.

What's these people's problems, expecting us to do all the work for them?

These forums are a database, updated with new information is available. Do you think our opinions change from one AA vs UL thread to another? Didn't think so.

well the data could be out dated and if this is just a database why are you here, adding new posts? and not everyone could have already responded to these questions, i know people should search and use stickies, and i do, but the whole point of a forum is to communicate and talk
