In your "professional" opinions, what's the better choice for the 98C, the Lapco direct feed, or the Pro-team powerfeed? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Well, there's not a whole lot of advantage to the powerfeed. One of them has holes to vent excess gases, but you can do that yourself with a 1/4" drill on your feed neck.

There is a difference between the two.
Proteam power feed- mount in place of the stock hopper but overlaps the top of the marker blocking your line of sight. it doenst matter to some ppl but I dont like to look down the side of the barrel to see where Im shooting. It also, like said above, has a big hole in on the topside of it that you can see the balls feed and it diffuses blow back. It also has a plastic knob at the bottom end of it that you can turn and balls cannot be fed into the breach. Ive heard of the plastic falling out and spilling paintballs. It is also more expensive. I dont recommend it.
Lapco Direct Feed - mounts in place of the stock elbow. It does not block line of sight. It doesnt have a hole to vent blow back. It has a small allen screw that tightens down on the rod that holds it to the reciever. This keeps it from coming off unless you take it off. It does still wobble a little, I think the power feed does too. It is basically a straight feed w/ no bends in it other than the plastic eblow. It also allows you to have stack of 8 balls (depending on hopper) ready to be fed into the breach. This also helps w/ blowback because there is more weight on top of the stack pushing the next ball in better. The stock only holds 5 ball stack. It prolly doesnt help w/ blowback that much, but just a little bit. you will also have to take of the elbow latch on your stock elbow and put it on this.
They are both made from metal. you will need an platic elbow with both. I recommend the ACI elbow. great flexibility, but hard plastic.
I researched this before I bought it and still decided to get the lapco direct feed. It is more affordable, doesnt overlap the top of the gun. get it from paintballgear.com for 12.99 when you order some other stuff. free shipping on purchases over 100. next time your gonna play, get paint, the elbow, the direct feed, and any upgrade youve been wanting and it will prolly put you over 100. Thats what Id do.
