Out Shooting Halo?

Ok i just got my new B2K3 and i set the lpr and hpr correctly. I put the halo on it and it shoots good at about 10-15bps, but when i rip i chop. Could i be out shooting the halo (has new zcode), the hpr, lpr, or my bulldog 3 tank?

Make sure you do the detent mod so you don't double feed.

You're not outshooting your halo. I don't think, anyways. I say get the SP Mod for chops.

I also doubt it has anything to do with those other 3 as well. It could be the detents the halo has been known to double feed on the oring detents. Strengthening them is a good option. isnt the bko capped at 18-19 bps anyways? the halo feeds like 22+ unless you got a slow one or somethin.

Well i just got back from playing, what a mess! This gun RIPS and every one wanted to know what i was shooting, but man when i got on the trigger it makes a HUGE mess. Every game as soon as i would get on the trigger i would chop. I only chop when i rip. So you guys think the problem is dbl feeding? I do the oring mod and tell you guys how it works.

Any one else have this problem with B2K3's and halo's?

Yep, sounds like you're double feeding, try the mod and see what happens.

Ok, i just did the detent mod, the macro line 1 (incase their are others). What a mess, it didnt help at all! Any ideas?

Hmm, thats odd :eyes:. I don't think there are any other ways :confused. Do you have a friend with an eggy? Maybe you could try his and see how that works.

The only thing that could be the problem is that maybe you got stuck with a really bad Halo or something. At first I was thinking it was a bad paint to barrel match, but then you would chop even during slow rates of fire. Then I was thinking it could be heavy blowback, but generally Halo's solve blowback. So the only thing is that it's just a bad Halo. So maybe you should try to borrow a different Halo from someone and see how that works. It wouldn't hurt to do a blowback test as well.

usuially in this situation (when i stump every one on the forums, and i cant fix a problem) i sell the gun, but i like this gun to much so im holdn out.

Let me take a stab at this one...

1)Did you reinforce both detents? Sometimes reinforcing both can cause you to chop.

2)What paint are you using?

3)What is your HPR running at?

4)Put your HALO on another fast gun and rip. Does the gun that you just put your HALO on chop?

5)Are you getting an shoot down? I have found that shoot down can cause you to chop. Why you ask? Because, the bolt doesnt return back fast enough before it is pushed forward again.

Forgot some stuff...

The MAC ram is not out yet. When it is released, you will be able to get it from www.shootpaint.com

OTB is also working on an anti-chop bolt for the bushy. www.offthebreak.com

The bushy has only one solenoid. Anyways, the solenoid wont create a higher rof for you.

A good nitro tank shouldnt have any shoot down. If your bulldog is having shoot down get it repaired or sell it and get a crossfire.

Finally, one more question for above, how is your consistency?

Ok ill answer all your quesions:

Yes i reinforced them both. Ill try only one reinforced in a few mins.

2)What paint are you using?

Im using Worr Paint Domination. My cocker loved this stuff.

3)What is your HPR running at?

My HRP settings have been any where from 180-250 (i adjusted it depending on desired velocity and to compensate for the LPR pressures), and i have had my lpr as high up as it can go without leaking, as low as it can go and shoot, and right in the middle. I have had no luck with any settings

4)Put your HALO on another fast gun and rip. Does the gun that you just put your HALO on chop?

I dont have any friends with a gun as fast as mine, maybe i can get a hold of my friends 03 shocker.

5)Are you getting an shoot down? I have found that shoot down can cause you to chop. Why you ask? Because, the bolt doesnt return back fast enough before it is pushed forward again.

Not at a low rof, but i would not be amazed if im not at high rof. I never got to shoot a long enough stream before a chop to notice any shoot down.

Finally, one more question for above, how is your consistency?

I have put a case through this gun and the consistency is sometimes like 277, 277, 277 and others it will be 270, 285, 275. The paint i was using was a bit to small for my barrel so i think that might of caused my inconsistency.

Wow i just checked out that bolt, even after we get this problem figured out im still buyn that bolt, it looks awsome!

Im guessing you are still using the stock valve.

Unscrew the LPR pretty far out.

Attach your air source.

Set the HPR to 225psi.

Slowly screw the LPR in until the bolt cocks back. Then goto a chrono and adjust your LPR up by 1/2 a turn each time until you reach your desired FPS.

To test for shoot down just dry fire. This way you will be able to rip and see if you have any. Just watch the guage when doing this.

Ok, new update: I chrono'ed my gun and i toomk out the macro in one of teh detents. I have my hpr set and i set the lpr do about 275-280. I was gettn +/-5 on the consistence. When i was done setting it all i has was like 5 balls to rapid fire, no chops...

i just checked for shoot down, the guage is goin crazy i cant even really tell. its weard when my tank gets down to like 500psi my hpr pressure jumps from 225 to 250. is that to help keep my set veloscity when i am low on air?

Your tanks reg should keep a constant pressure going into the gun.

A jump in pressure like that could indicate your tank is bad.

Somone correct me if I'm wrong.

The only way the output pressure from your marker reg would be if the input pressure from the tank changed.

Get some more air. When tanks run low regs can start to jump.

It sounds more like a defective HALO. I'm having the same problem. I can shoot slower speeds without problem but whenever I start walking the trigger it's a blender. With me, when I shoot fast I notice the HALO either not kicking in right away or it will pause for some reason so I will either get a dry shot or a bunch of chops.

when i put paint in the halo and let it just unload it dose it perfectly. im gonna get more paint today. if i still have the problems i will contact odyssey and see what they can do.

i might try and get one of the new empire halo's that are sound activated.

the only difference on the reloader B's from the Halo B's is like you said one is a reflective eye and the other is sound activated. Besides that they are the same hopper (they are even made by the same company)

so i doubt getting the new hopper will fix your problem, if your hopper isnt the problem right now

the thing with the sound loader is it has NO eye problems and it spins as soon as you pull the trigger for faster reaction time which = faster feed rate. it dosnt have to wait to see a ball, it just spins.

but if the hopper isnt the problems im not gettn a new one, lol.

With no reinforced detents it dbl fed and chopped, both reinforced it chopped like mad, and with one reinforced it works perfectly.

I went out back and ripped off streams and streams of balls. Im so happy!
