I got my bko today! A black 04!! I still need to get my drop forward in but just tickin off the solenoid...its great! Looks great, so compact, and needless to say im sleeping on the floor and its on my bed tonight! Anyway, a couple Q's cuz I know you guys are really smart, and a lot of your info is what made me chose the BKO instead of the imps and omens i was lookin at.
1. If my lube contains petroleum hydrocarbons, does this mean its petroleum based? (bad thing, i know) Its 'permatex' brand if that helps, maybe some of you have heard of it.
2. Do I need to lube the regs and such b4 I use it for my first time or should they be ok out-of-the-box? I have some silicone spray for the bolt which I will use now.
3. I have a tourney this weekend. If I avoid learning how to take apart the regs until after (later ill have more time to fool around) will I be askin for trouble if something happens? I will read about how to do it just in case, but not sure about actually testing right now...
4. The macro included is for my asa/drop right? Its not a back-up for the macro inside of the gun is it?
5. What is the middle trigger adjustment screw for? (I think i read it somewhere, but lookin thru the last few pages I couldnt find it). Ive used my 1st and last screws to get a nice mouse-click trigger, but im curious about the middle one (the manuel is for the '03 of course).
Thats all for now! Thanks in advanced!

Yeah, dont use that.

They should be fine, but if you notice you are getting bad consistency or shoot down, then I would relube the regs

This one is up to you, if it was me, I would know the regs just incase something happens.

You are correct. Its for the ASA.

Middle is spring tension.
Thats all for now! Thanks in advanced!
Your welcome!

Thanks a lot imp ya! Ill go huntin for some other white lithium grease. So the spring tension screw adjusts how quick the trigger comes back and how hard it is to push? Ill take on them regulators tonight I think.

the middle screw is how light or snappy you want your trigger pull to feel. Its all preference, everybody likes their pull feel different. Go to your local hardware store and pick up some dow33 and you will be just fine for lube.

I found some white lithium grease my dad had. Its victor brand. No petroleum stuff mentioned anywhere on the package. I think im gonna use it for now. I took a try at the regs. This is how far I got: Bottom cap>metal disc>super stiff spring> then the body>and then a little gold piece with>small spring ontop of it>and then the top cap. My problem is, I dont know how to acces the body part. Looking up from the bottom there is a white disc, and from the top you can see a pin and an oring. Do I need to take out the allen screw on the side of the regulator body (the macroline mount is on the opposite side of the screw)? Will that allow it all to slide out? Does this mean re-applying teflon tape everytime I take it apart (the screw is currently taped)?
LPR-I got it off, and I now have the LPR, spring and a rod with a gold nipple thing on it. The rod goes into the valve thingy. How do I access my LPR more? Do I lube the part of the rod that goes into the valve area? When adjusting the LPR, do I use a standard screwdriver? Would I simply unscrew the face of the LPR all the way out to access the internals?
Although I dont plan on taking it off, as Its needless wear on the treads, but is the feed tube a standard thread that you turn counter-clockwise to loosen? I tried a little just to see and it wasnt moving. Im geussing its just really tight, but I dont want to try en force it if im wrong.
I noticed that the threads on the barrel, and the HPR are a little rough. Would it be wise to rub on a little gun lube to keep em from damaging/getting damaged?
Does anyone have a link to the 2004 bko schematics? The manuel is not helpful in any of these areas.
I will use some blue lock-tite to keep my bottom trigger adjusting screw in place, but do i need to do if on the others? The other two are inside of the trigger and I think it would be hard to get them out again. The bottom one is visible since it goes thru the thin part of the trigger and comes out the other side.
Thanks!

Unscrewing the face will give you access to the internals...also unscrewing the LPR body from the gun will give you access to the valve and its spring, etc.

I tried a little just to see and it wasnt moving. Im geussing its just really tight, but I dont want to try en force it if im wrong. You can take off the feedneck but only do so if you have to. The threads have loc-tite and will need some elbow grease from your part. Loosen the thread might flake off some loc-tite and defeat its purpose.
I noticed that the threads on the barrel, and the HPR are a little rough. Would it be wise to rub on a little gun lube to keep em from damaging/getting damaged? A lile Lube on the oring is not a bad idea...if you want a nice good tight fit put an oring on the bottom of HPR threads. In other words you will have two orings one on the "oring slit"..and one at th bottom where the threads end.

make sure its not a permanat loc-tite. I use red.
Thanks!

Thanks Falco, that helps quit a bit! Ill keep looking for info on the HPR. The manuel with my gun recomended blue loc-tite, and on the package it says 'medium strength' so I think itll be fine. I think Im gonna put a lil bit on all 3 trigger adjustent screws because they vibrate aroundq quite easily.
Is this the post you were talking about? http://www.wisconsinpaintballteams.com/bko/
Its got a 2003.7 bodybut the regs are still the old ones:confused: .

Yea, but it gives an idea. After your game this weekend. Tinker around a bit. Its not that hard.
Adding some loc-tite to your trigger screws is very good idea...and that pulling will surely move those screws and messing up your trigger adjustments..

Just to keep you updated... The tourney was great! My bko was super! Shes only had about 500rnds through it before hand yet it was quit consistant. The gun was set out-of-the-box and required no adjustments all day (came 260-270ish). The only problem was some chopping because the reloader just wasnt fast enough. Of 16 teams, we came in 2nd (we maxed the 1st place team earlier, which was there only loss). We won entry to skyball 7 and driver barrels. When I heard that, I remembered I had to go find out if I had cocker threads, so I found a guy shootin a cocker and he let me give it a try. The threads looked the same, and geuss what, the barrel fit perfectly. Therefore my bko has cocker threads and thats what Im ordering. Thanks so much for convincing me to get the bko!! Great day!!
