what the heck does a barrel shroud do????

Can somebody tell me what a barrel shroud does, and is it worth getting?

I got a spyder java deluxe with dye stickes, bigdaddy barrel, 32 degrees 6 stage expansion chamber.

Barrel shrouds are often used to cover up the ugly or easily damaged parts of the marker as well. For example, with the standard autocockers it's used to protect/hide the front pneumatics.

I don't know about on a spyder though. could you get one for a spyder.


He is asking this about his type of gun. not any gun. that is why it should be in here. also if he put it in eneral, everyone would tell him to get a better gun and not waste money on this gun (those *******s).

That's the "shroud" they have on Shutters and TL Plus's.
If it's really only 6.95 I might get one just for the hell of it. Anyone know where I can get one?

Are yall talking about an Autococker shroud??...cause I doubt they will even fit on spyders, but not sure.

No, they're talking about the shroud that goes where the barrel screws on. At least the autococker shroud is functional for something. The spyder shroud just ruins the relatively clean lines of the marker.

that isn't even a shroud. that thing is stupid (now that I've seen it ona gun)....

just get an autococker shroud, from some autococker guy and weld it to your barrel or something. (would that work)?

I think the shroud screws up your aiming... I just took mine off, realizing that it has no purpose.

the shroud on the shutter is red or chrome. Its ugly makes the barrel look shorter and is... ugly

the shroud on the spyder is for nothing but looks.

there are mixed opinions on it, but i actually prefer to play with mine on.

it locks the VA in place too, if you happen to have a loose screw (which will never happen).

i think it look decent, and yes, it does make the barrel look shorter, which is a major plus!

i have the look of a out of proportion barrel. i believe in the way greeks see life, the Athenian way of architecture, body building, education... eveyrthing must be in proportion.
