Will tommorrow I will be doing my real first games of paintball. They say it is going to be like 46 degrees. DO I need to put a sock with a hothand on it to keep the tank warm?

Never put a heat pack on your CO2 tank...if you want to know why, a tank that is a bomb isn't fun. You better hope the burst disk goes off...
A sock however, is fine.

 I can see it now. He's running up to bunker somebody, the burst disk goes off, it startles him and causes him to trip and fall, smashing his gun into the dirt.

Ya, Co2 is pretty inconsistent when it is really cold outside, but yet, it's really temperamental when it is TOO hot, and can cause the burst disk to rupture (if it doesn't blow up on ya first). My friend put his 9oz on his bed one day and it kinda got put under some blankets at some point. Later in the day, we hear this weird noise coming from his room and the tanks burst disk had ruptured and air was going everywhere, so lots of heat+C02+contained metal canister=big firey mess of a bomb. It would do fine, but when temps approach around freezing and below, thats when Co2 becomes kind of a paint to use.

Yeah, 46 is not too bad, I played today in 30 degree weather. That should be fine with a sock or cover. Never put hothands on your tank like Codestar said. If it is really cold (and 46 isn't) rent a nitro tank.;)
