For 200-250, you wouldnt be able to buy a gun that would be much better than your compact, and probably worse than if you'd just upgraded your compact. Either save your money until you have more and can buy something better, or you can look into the following upgrades

Bottomline with palmer stabilizer regulator, anti-syphon for your CO2, drop forward, and if you can, a lapco bigshot barrel, or J&J ceramic. Also get a spring set, and change to the low pressure spring, so you can run your gun at a lower pressure using your regulator. Do all this and you'll be amazed at how much better your gun is, hope it comes to less than 250

Yes, save your money and get a better gun. I am not sure how much a Spyder Compact 2000 costs but you won't get much difference in performance if you buy a gun in that price range. If you feel the need to spend the money now, do something similar to what elTwitcho said.

i decided to just upgrade i've already got the j&j cermic barrel do you know of a good bolt that will improve range. and is it worth it to set it up with low pressure

It's very much worth it to go low pressure, a bolt wont do much but decrease the amount of ball breaks you have, and maybe help a little with going low pressure (if you get a low pressure bolt). Buy all the other stuff first, then look towards a low pressure bolt if you must buy one

I was looking at the Intimidators online, and one store said the gun is alreay "Low Pressure." Is that true. Also, where did you get yours and how much did you pay for it?

Stock, an intimidator runs about 250-300 psi, with about 80-110 pressure for bolt movement. The conversion, involves turning the topmost reg, that controls firing pressure (250-300 psi) into a big ole volumizer. Really simple actually, just involves taking the reg spring out, and taking the pin out from the valve, maybe 3 minutes of work. My gun now fires around 180 psi. The only real difference I've noticed, is that now I can turn my bolt/hammer pressure down to about 70, and because the bolt and hammer move back and forth with far less force, the recoil is reduced to almost nothing. Also, in order to get consistent chrony speeds, it used to be necessary to find a good balance between your inline reg, and the two on gun regs, have just one reg set improperly and you'll get big time kick, and insanely bad consistency (+-30 fps). Once I did get mine balanced though, I was getting +-3 fps on the second day of the tourney, and that was about the best I'd seen anyone get, it just takes work. Now, with the LP mod, there are only 2 regs to adjust, and it's very very simple to do. I bought mine from the Extreme Rage proshop someone outside either Tampa, or Fort Myers (I really forget, sorry). Cost me 750. If you're looking into one, I highly recomend it, customer service has been the best, and even a couple angel owners, and the guy who had the freeflow cocker, said they really liked it, and thought it felt great after I'd done the LP mod. If there's anything else, you know me, I'd be glad to go on and on about this gun, so just ask :)

Oh, and for the LP mod, you need an inline reg or adjustable tank that wil go down to less than 300 psi. Velocity adjustment is done mostly with the inline reg, and the bolt/hammer movement pressure should be as low as possible, while still having enough force to open the valve, that way you get the least amount of kick possible
