looking for a decent begginers gun

hi i just started paintballing and ive been renting a gun(Tippmann 98 custom) from my local field and i really like it so I decided to get a gun but i dont know whitch one has good acuracy and quality for not to much money, I was thinking mabye a tippmann custom 98 or pro/carbine,spyder or pirana or some other ones but i like those ones,I have heard some good things about them.

Those guns you named are all good guns. It's just a matter of personal preferance. And I agree with albert, since you've already played with a Tippmann you might just want to stick with it since you already have the experience. However don't become narrow minded and think that a tipppman is the only type of gun you can use. People may argue with me and say one is better than another, but in my opinion all four of the guns you named are equally good. As for me personally, I use a spyder. They're easily upgradeable, very durable, and easy to get replacement parts for. But then again thats just my personal preferance. :)

I vote Spyder Shutter or Xtra. If you really want to know why, pm me, but I've answered this question about a million times already. I will however say that upgrades for a Spyder are far cheaper and many than the Tippy's upgrades.....and I think the Tippy is just a bit too long for me personally.

I would go with any of those guns but the piranha sounds like the better one to me. They are easily upgradeable just like any sypder. so i would choose one of those 2

thanks, u guys helped lots! I think im gonna get a TL plus because the 98 customs upgrades seemed to be more expensive than the spyders and also i can get one for pretty cheep at a store in canada so i dont have to pay duties and all that stuff.
I can get the TL plus,JT spectra thermal mask,Java 20 0z. co2,vl200 hopper for like 400 canadian which is like 40$ more than just the gun at my local paintball shop!:D

i just checked out the java tank.....it looks EXACTLY like my pure energy except for the 1 Cent JAVA sticker on it. id buy the pure energy and put a java sticker on it ;)

Ive narrowed it down to these two guns but i dont what the differances are. I'm leaning towards the TL plus but i still like the tippmann. I was also wondering what some good upgrades are like barrels because every body says the stock barrel on the 98 custom sucks so please let me know.:confused: :confused:

id say tippman custom 98, first of, the stock DOES NOT SUCK, and second, once you have the custom, you dont desperately need upgrades, my friends have spyders and they needed new barrels and triggers and cocking bolts and springs and **** while all ive goten for my tippman was a nytt stykk barrel 45$ and a rear velocity adjuster(7$ at 888paintball). and thasall i need! so think a bit harder, and dont think just about upgrades. For instance the 98 has a straight view over the top of the gun, and the hopper is very low, while a spyder has that cross feed, and requires an elbow, which keeps the hopper way up in the air, so theres many factors for you to consider.

HI, I got a Point zero gun and every thing else i needed from wal mart for 150$ canadian. IT works very good for me but the only problem i found is that it shoots 2 balls at once quite often, other than that it has very good accuracy and power for that much money. I will upgrade when it breaks or i need a new one but for now i will just use it and be happy with it because I didnt want to get a more expensive gun and then quit paintball but i dont dont think that will happen because paintball kicks a**!!!!!

I'd suggest looking into a pump marker such as the phantom, trracer, sniper II, maverick, armson, etc. Those guns are all fairly good, but I would suggest the phantom (my personal choice) and the sniper II over the rest. Pump is more challenging but it really kicks when you start smoking semis.

I think im going to get at pirahna sts g3 with a small nitro tank,drop forward,barrel and a revy and go in some begginers tournaments. my freinds have a team and they go in tourneys and they said i could join there team. would that be a good begginers tourny set up?:confused:

For just a little more you can go electro and get Kingman's new Flash marker. That's what I'd do. But hey, pretty much any Spyder/Piranha will work if you're not up against Angels and the like.

if i were you, i would get the spyder.... its lighter, quieter, and easy to upgrade... if you want a barrel, i would get a boomstick-$100, but if u want a cheaper barrel, look towards a big shot or AA or even a j&j ceramic

boomstick would be ur best barrel choice, but only if you plan on keeping that gun or sticking with spyders.... its not worth it if you want a new gun later, b/c u don't want to buy a boomstick on a beginners gun

it just depends on what mods u are looking at or if you are looking at a new gun later. just go with the big shot
