What does the turbo valve do?

Increase air flow.

I think I know what you mean, but what are advantages of increased airflow(besides its increasement)?

If your gun is LP it will help to lower the PSI and keep the fps up. If you have a high pressure gun it will increase your velocity.

The primary reason for using the turbo valve is to get more velocity out of your paintballs. However, if you are already shooting 280fps with either the green or red spring, you probably won't benefit much from the turbo valve.

The way it works is to direct more air to the paintball and less air to the hammer. For some, this also creates the burping problem; like when you're short of air pressure and the gun won't recock.

Usually turbo valves cannot recock the gun unless a paintball is loaded into the chamber. The paintball puts just enough backpressure on the bolt to help the recoil effect.

Hope this helps.

Actually, the turbo valve will not cause a burping problem. They usually come with an aftermarket valve pin as well, which is higher flowing. That will direct more pressure to the striker as well as the bolt.
