I am looking for an accurate stock gun that is moderate in speed and looks nice for about 400$. I want OPINIONS and reasons.

Go for a vert cocker, $350. It looks incredibly nice and has a decent ROF. It also has the closed bolt, no-kick accuracy you want.

You can get a stock Impulse for about 425. Better ROF than a cocker, and with a few cheap mods you can have better accuracy. Also very reliable

Well, since accuracy isn't based on marker type at all, you're wrong.

At that price point, I'd also say Impy, since it's gonna come with a Maxxy and a Progressive, probably the best you'll find at that price for a new marker.

Or, you could go the used route and pick up a secks used 'Mag or 'Cocker.

I like cockers and imps but not mags

id go for an imp if you want speed and easy maintence. if your really into looks, then i would go for a 2k4 cocker.

Well, since accuracy isn't based on marker type at all, you're wrong.

So you're saying that a stock spyder would have the same shot grouping as a stock...lets say 02 shocker perhaps? What i'm trying to say is...accuracy DOES vary from marker to marker and if you don't believe it look at field tests (shot grouping) from any two markers out there, they won't be the same. Oh yeah, I have grouping photos from a test on an 02 impy with stock barrel, an 03 cocker with stock barrel, and an 01 cocker with a new valve, bolt, and boomstick barrel. The imp had a very much tighter grouping than the stock 03, and the 01 with mods was about the same as the imp. If you want the pics I would be glad to send them. As for the paint/barrel match, 3 different paints (WGP Worrpaint, Evil, and nelson were all used)

goob barrel + good paint = accuracy.

consistency helps alot too. so it can affect accuracy. i.e, if one gun spikes 10-15 fps, and one only does +/- 1-3, the 1-3 in theory will be more accurate.

You obviously missed the point of my post...

Try re-reading and then comprehending... then maybe you can post and I won't have to tell you that you're lacking a basic skill for effective use of an internet message board- reading comprehension.

You said that marker differences do not have any effect on accuracy and that I was wrong for saying anything about that. And I think most people would agree that you meant that I was wrong for saying that marker differences have no effect on accuracy. I think you obviously missed the point of my post also...I said that different markers have different accuracy patterns, and I gave you an example of a test. I guess you thought I was flaming cockers or something...I don't know, but to end that before it starts...I have had 2 cockers and they are my favorite type of markers beside imps and shockers

No, I know you weren't flaming 'Cockers. I'm telling you that marker design will not have any affect on accuracy in a proper test. A Spyder will be just as accurate as a 'Cocker which will be as accurate as a 'Mag which will be just as accurate as an Imp, provided they're all shooting the same paint out of the same barrel with the same consistency.

How often is every gun on a playing field shooting the same paint, with the same barrel, and the same consistency?

OK guys I don't mind the discussion but please don't flame. I like the discussion yall are are having, but before this gets much farther, I think maybe you, teuf, should read what you said " A Spyder will be just as accurate as a 'Cocker which will be as accurate as a 'Mag which will be just as accurate as an Imp, provided they're all shooting the same paint out of the same barrel with the sameconsistency ." Not many markers match up with the same consistency, but you are totally correct. Paint-barrel match and consistency= accuracy. Even after tweaking a marker they will not be totally identical in consistency.

"if one gun spikes 10-15 fps, and one only does +/- 1-3, the 1-3 in theory will be more accurate." -p8ntfreak98

He is correct.

That argument holds zero weight with your position.

And Shocker- throw the same reg, same tank, and same barrel, with the same paint on a Spyder and a 'Cocker and there will be zero difference in consistency.

 Really I didn't know that thats a sweet deal. Do you know if it is possible to convert to electro with a 'mag.

Yeah. You can get a Centerflag Hyperframe for like $300 new, or you could buy an E-Mag rail, battery, and frame. Not sure on pricing.

Try that marker first though, especially if you have a ULT. I've seen a video of 15bps with it... mechanical.

My bps limit is well within 15. $300 is alot but I guess it would be close to an xmag.
