My friend and I have a 10-acre paintball field, but now that it is done he is worried about letting people on for fear that someone will get hurt and sue. I was wondering if anyone knew what steps would have to be taken to protect him from this.

Can you players simply sign a typed release form or must he have insurance specificly for a injury pertaining to paintball...

Thanks for any Help................

Ask a lawyer.

If this field is part of your property, I would guess that you have homeowner's insurance. That should cover most injuries that could come up, if the injured party were to sue you. For example, my insurance will cover up to $300,000.

If it's just a lot with no insurance on it, then I would recommend you get some. Prices will vary depending on where it is and what insurance company you go through, but I don't think it should be too expensive.

Waivers would help, but aren't completely binding.

Thanks,
I checked if the insurance would cover injuries on that property and they said up to $350. Hopefully I'll never have to use it.

I say make 'em sign waivers anyway. Can't hurt anything. Just remember, if they're minors, you have to get their parental gaurdian to sign it since they can't enter into a contract.

well even with insurance you will want your people to sign a waiver Ebonclaw said it good. be sure their parents sign it if they are minors.
