:agree:

as far as this thread goes, did you want to know more about how to "clean" your gun or how to "oil" it.

so that's a no on the compressor tool oil? i don't see much a diff. between the oil and "paintball gun oil" because they both use compressed air/co2 and what can the oil do ya know?

edit: i found some what of an answer:
"Diagnosis: Wrong Hammer O-ring.
Explanation: An o-ring other than a Urethane tank o-ring may not work properly. The correct o-ring should be slightly loose and lightly oiled with paintball gun oil or air tool oil"

edit#2: well i found my answer on www.askjeeves.com and some pros say to oil up your gun with paintball gun oil or air-tool oil "are the best, and safest ways". hope it's a new tip to those who don't know...it is for me :)

Lets see, care for a spyder is usually pretty simple. Depending on your warranty, you might not want to disassemble your gun completely for cleaning and for lubrication, but here are the basics:

-After a day of play, wipe down your paintball marker (gun)with a clean damp cloth or even a paper towel. This removes all the paintball splatter, dirt, debris and other crud that gets on your marker.

-Unscrew the barrel from your gun and run some water down it to keep it clean and clear. If you have a squeegee, then use it. If not just make your own pull through squeegee with a bit of cloth and a string. Keeping the inside of your barrel clean and free from scratches is a must to keep your marker firing accurately.

-Pour a few drops down the feed (the part where the paintballs go down) and on to the bolt. Unscrew the tank from your gun and put a few drops of oil on the threads of the ASA (the part where the tank screws into the gun). The screw the tank back in and dry-fire (shooting with air, but without paintballs). That will get the oil circulating through out the internals of your gun.

I think that's about it for the basics. Anymore questions?:)

As for the type of oil you use, petroleum-based oils are supposed to be bad for your gun, because petroleum eats away at O-rings and makes them wear out quicker than there supposed to, or so I've been told.

yea..that's what i've read... i looked at the diagram for my gun or what i think is my gun and it said for specific o rings to use paintball gun oil ONLY....so i guess everything else is okay with the air tool oil

edit: i called up kingman and they said that there might be solvents in the air tool oil so i need something synthetic. he said head over to walmart for a can of birchwood oil
