well, i just got my new a-5 today, and i wanted to know a few things. i was dry firing in my room for the first time and noticed that it was really loud. is it usually like that or is it because i wasnt shooting paint through it? anyway, i have a flatline barrel on there, if that makes any difference. also, i noticed that it shoots full auto. do A-5's come stock with full auto or not? thanx.

yeas they will seem loud and no they don't come full auto unless you got the e-grip on it. hope this helps.

The flatline tends to be loud even with paint. You must have a RT or something they dont shoot full auto stock.

well if the trigger has bounce then it is has the RT. Just look on the side with hopper on it. Look for the hose going for the middle of the gun the the hopper. Then see if there is a hose going to the trigger from the middle point. Also look behind the trigger. You should see a metal pin like thing. If so then it has the RT. If not you either have a Egrip or someone figured out a way to make the stock A-5 full auto besides me.

Sound like you have RT on.

Wow, that would be great if you have the rt on it and you didn't even know it!:) By the way, you sound just like me! I just got the a5 with flatline;) and i shot it in my room without paint, and it was ssooooooooooooooo loud. My guess is that the flatline add sound to your gun.

Happy hunting,

it is louder inside the house because sound bounces off of furniture and the walls etc. Like an echo chamber. Also, w/ paint it is not as loud.

Well we can make a few things clear just by reading what you've written and described.

1. You have a R/T (unless you have a bionic finger)
2. Your gun is loud

For the R/T (Response Trigger) you'll have a silver pin-like button behind the trigger and there will be a hose going into the back right of the grip.

The gun is loud (which is normal) because of the Echo, like Yakitori said, and because the Flatline Barrel has no porting holes so all the air is forced into the gun and out that single hole at the end of the barrel. "Whisper" barrels and other "quiet" barrels are packed with porting holes to allow the air to escape thus supressing noise.

You can't get it quieter (I have tried and tried, can't be done) but it's just not going to happen. And if you don't like the "full auto" known here as "sweet spotting" then you could alter it. By viewing previous threads first.

I recommend, I take that back, I HIGHLY recommend you do a SEARCH before you make any new threads. Just a little advice. You'll get your info faster and we won't get annoyed with repetitive threads.

Welcome to Tippmann.

actually, i think i do have r/t because there is a silver pin like thingy the trigger activates when you pull it. the trigger also bounces. for the response trigger, does it fire different modes or just full. if so, how? o yah, do the stock a-5's come with the pin thing right behind the trigger? thanx

stock a5s dont come w/ the pin behind the trigger. The RT uses blowback gas to operate a piston behind the trigger that does the resetting of the trigger. You dont have to shoot full auto, you can pull the trigger once and let off to shoot semi. or you can do short bursts.

you just need to play around w/ it and practice working the trigger.

How much did you get it for w/ the flatline.

i guess mine is special or something but my flatline seems to be quieter than my stock barrel? hmmm, maybe i should test this. but i didn't notice the flatline being a lot louder than a regular barrel unless i had my hopper off. i think its louder inside (not jsut flat any gun )cuz the sound bounces of the wall and stuff

You don't you just hold the trigger in the "sweet spot" ever so long to shoot. Let go when your done. There are no settings on the RT.

You can adjust the R/T to some extent. The adjustment is accomplished by turning the flathead screw on the right side of the trigger housing to get more of a faster shot ratio turn it counter clockwise and vice versa for a slower shot ratio. But really all that does is slow down the R/T. But the thing is dont turn the adjustment screw all the way in//clockwise or you will shut off the R/T.

o, is that used to adjust the r/t? i thought that was the velocity adjuster. anyway, this is kinda off the topic, but since i'm already posting, i'm gonna ask for your help. i have a cradle w/ on/off on there and every time i put the 68/45 tank on, it starts to leak; i just got my tank fillied up today and because of all the leaking, i already used up more than 1000 psi. first of all, i'm not sure of what direction to turn the knob to turn the tank on or off. Second of all, the air is coming out of a small hole in the asa adapter. can you guyz help me? btw, this is not a small leak i'm talking about, it leaks real hard and is really loud. give me any suggestions. thanx

On the other hole on the ASA, there should be a small screw which should be locktited or sealed with teflon tape. Your tank should be operating fine at the listed psi. Take your cradle/drop (whichever it is) to your local proshop and ask around there. After you fix your problems, experiment with the on/off and see which direction shuts off airflow. Hope this helps :) .
