Here is what I would do if I were you...
1. Read revies, get as much info about both guns as possible.
2. Test both, go to your local field/store and ask to try them and even try to get a game in with both.
3. Take my advice and get the ANS because the Omen IMO is a pretty crummy marker.

Well normally I would say neither...get a custom Imp or 03 shocker, but if I do:
1. You are one of those haters of SP and won't listen to any facts.
2. You will tell me that you asked about these two...not any other gun.
So...I would say get the GX, because even though i don't like cockers...of all of them out there I would have to say that the GX is one of my favorites. I talked to the guy that owns the field I work at and he said that he talked to his supplier about stocking the Omens in his store...and the supplier said that he had sent out about 20 to his stores and 14 of them came back broken. So I would definitely say get the GX, although if I had that kind of money to spend I would look into a shocker or custom (Rat) Imp.

Read reviews like someone said above. Thats the whole point of the site. But IMO:
I personally love cockers, but i would never buy one if i had the money. The omen is good, but the GX4 is teh secky. It looks awsome, although the trigger is a hinge. Upgrade to a worr blade or you could leave it stock. either way, its better than the omen.

Omen hands down, I don't care people say they break down, blah, blah, blah, they don't if they are set-up right and if people know what they are doing, but if it does break, evil has one of the best customer services. They come with a better reg, they are faster, better stock barrel, and a mech anti-chop. Plus you can find new omens in the b/s/t parts of forums for like $350. The omen is hands down better also because you don't need to upgrade anything to have it perform well. But in the end it really, I mean really depnds on how the marker feels in YOUR hands.

definately not , the ans regs are one of the best out there, plus GX4 are way more reliable then the omen. Get the GX4, but if u have cash , get the GXE.;)

get the omen, i have one and i absolutely love it. I was thinking about getting a GX4 too, my cousin told me to get the omen so i did. I have had no problems with it and i think it is a really really great gun. Read the reviews for both guns and just get what you think you want, I think it should be the omen but that is me.

Don't be an idiot, the omen reg compared to a gx4 is absolute junk. The Gx4 comes w/ ANS top of the line parts. Including the Jackhammer.
Gx4 hands down, the Omen is a cocker ripoff and are prone to breakdown.

Also, if you ever actually read any field tests of the omen, the stock barrel is listed as one of the main downfalls.

Hmmm the omen reg, the detonator is comparable to the Maxflo, the Gen-X reg it good, but not great. And the omen comes with great parts too, and thus why there isn't a need for upgrades for it. The ANS cockers are the same way. Also the cocker is considerably slower than the omen, and also does not have an anti-chop. The only way to get the cocker speed up is to get a e-blade, and that is another 300, whereas the omen has a 15bps cap stock, and with a $50 chip, its raised to 25bps. The omen will end up costing less $. *edit* omen breaking down, not unless you don't read the manual at all. ANd the cocker is not more reliable, cockers are nice but I'd have to say they break down A LOT more than an omen. Both are great markers, the omen will give the same (if not better) performance for cheaper.
Also what is the going rate on the GX4 right now?

The block moves back and forth on an omen , which is autococker close bolt style.
Who needs to hit 15 bps? most people hit 5-10 bps on the field anyways. capping guns to high rate of fire is pointless unless just showing off. GX4 is considerablely worth the money then the omen is.

you could go for the gx3, its pretty much exactly the same except it doesnt come with a barrel (change it anyway) or a drop and bottom line.
the only real difference is that there is a little more venting on the front block pnuematics or something like that, all the pnues are actually the same though.
the gx3 actually has a better rating than the gx4 too if you look at the reviews though i doubt it is actually any better.

"dont be an idiot."
an omen has a back block and is closed bolt. after that they are nothing alike.
the omen is prone to break down? and a cocker isn't?
a cocker is like a delicate flower, you have to treat it with just he right amount of TLC in order for it to even do anything.
the omen on the other hand, just needs a good recock pressure adjustment (which should take a total of 30 seconds at the most) and she'll shoot like a dream.
and calling the detonator junk? i wouldnt consider +/- 2 flux junk.
and with a cocker there is still a chance of chopping balls. with an omen, if you have your recock adjusted, you cant.
