:eyes:   I have alot of people tell me not to buy a gem viewloader. The clear or blue ect. One person told me that when a clear 12 volt is in the sun light it messes with the eye of the feeder. Is this true or false??? Give me some input guys and gals.

its very true. All the GEM series have that problem. If you are in any kind of bright sunlight, then it makes the motor start spinning even when there are balls in the feet neck.
NOW, what a number of people do is they paint the outside bottom portion to keep light out... but I think that looks kinda.. dumb.. so I took my green GEM, opened it up, and painted the INSIDE with black paint, then I used a permanent black marker to color the feet neck. That way the paintballs won't come in contact with paint, but the walls are completely opaque (one color). IMO it looks better then painting the outside of the revy.
I only painted up to the batteries tho, so that part is see-through, but the rest of it, where the motor housing is, and up front where the feed neck is, is all black.
I don't have my digi camera wit me right now, but I can take a picture of it l8r for ya..

Some of the early viewloader gems had that problem with the sunlight setting them off. Viewloader then corrected that problem for a slight time by making the feed necks out of black plastic so sunlight couldn't pass through it. Then they did a permanent fix by using new boards in the gems. The problem is these boards had a slight delay from the time a jam was sensored to the time the implellers alctually turned. Viewloader has finally corrected this problem the right way with its X-board. The x board isn't set off by sunlight like the last board, but it dosen't have the slight delay. If you order a new revy ask if it has the x board. Some ppl i know ordered new revys from www.nationalpb.com and they came with the xboards. One way to tell if the revy you are going to buy has the new board is to look at the low battery led. The old boards had a red led, while the X boards have a clear led.
Hope that helped
